Blackstone Global Fund Finance Open-Ended Funds BPP – Assistant Vice President

Job Description:

• Responsible for day-to-day activities related to the fund accounting and reporting of open-ended and closed-ended core real estate funds administered both externally and internally
• Liaise on a daily basis with third party fund administrator including, but not limited to cash, capital allocations and reconciliations, financial statements, capital call drawdown notices, distributions, redemptions, and investor requests
• Responsible for fund level operating activities including deal funding, investor funding, all cash activities, line of credit, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting
• Responsible for deliverables associated with BX quarterly close
• Responsible for production of quarterly and annual financial statements fund partnerships’ GAAP financial statements
• Responsible for calculation of complex waterfall and incentive models
• Liaise with external auditors
• Coordinate with internal audit to ensure SOX compliance
• Collaborate with multiple internal teams including Tax, Acquisition, Portfolio Management, Asset Management, Legal & Compliance, Investor Client Services, local Finance, Technology, and Treasury
• Responsible for offshore team coordination

Qualifications

• BS (or above) in Accounting or Finance is required and CPA is preferred
• 7+ Years of public accounting/private fund accounting experience
• Experience with open-ended funds, real estate and/or private equity industry is preferred
• Knowledge of Investment Company accounting required
• Strong technical accounting experience required

Job Title: Accounting Strategy & Policy, AVP

Job Description:

Blackstone’s Finance group is seeking an experienced and diligent professional for a promising opportunity as an Assistant Vice President on the Accounting Strategy & Policy team. In this role, he/she/they will provide strategic accounting and policy support to the newly launched Blackstone Private Equity Fund (BXPE), as well as other Blackstone funds.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Research, communicate and document accounting issues and related solutions, in support of the funds’ financial reporting in coordination with fund finance, operations and legal and compliance teams
• Provide structuring advice on proposed transactions in consideration of the fund’s reporting objectives  
• Develop accounting, non-GAAP and metric policies and procedures for BXPE and other Blackstone funds  
• Assist BXPE controllership and SEC reporting teams with preparation of required SEC filings, including Form 10-Q, Form 10-K and Form 8-K
• Follow development of relevant US GAAP accounting standard setting at the Financial Accounting Standards Board, rule-making at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), IFRS accounting standard setting at the International Accounting Standards Board and related interpretations from Big 4 accounting firms. Determine applicability to Blackstone funds, including BXPE.  Where applicable, lead implementation efforts at Blackstone for new standards, rules and interpretations.
• Assist in adherence to SEC independence rules by coordinating with accounting firms, and portfolio companies, preparing training materials, and designing policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with a Big 4 or a combination of Big 4 and Financial Services industry experience. 
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and/or investment company or private fund knowledge
• Excellent research skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral  
• Solution-oriented and collaborative creative thinker
• Strong attention to detail, highly organized with a robust work ethic and a positive attitude

Job Title: Global Fund Finance - Open-Ended Funds - BXPE - AVP

• Work directly with internal and external teams to assist in the preparation and review of the 10-Q, 10-K, and other recurring SEC filings and ensure new transactions are appropriately disclosed 
• Collaborate with various teams to prepare accounting policy memos for new transactions and analyze new accounting standards to determine impact on the fund
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors; oversee SOX controls and documentation
• Work directly with internal and external teams to ensure the financial results are appropriately recorded in the fund’s financial statements
• Responsible for regulatory reporting
• Work with internal and external teams to monitor the liquidity of the entire fund structure including supporting treasury operations for investor subscriptions, redemptions and distributions; liaising with stakeholders to ensure sufficient cash is available when and where required; coordinate with the appointed service providers to monitor funds available for distribution to support the fund’s distribution policy
• Responsible for quarterly close of BX deliverables  
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and projects
• Managing and mentoring junior staff

Qualifications:

• BS (or above) in Accounting or Finance is required
• CPA license is preferred
• 6 + years of public/private accounting experience
