The primary purpose of this position is to provide clerical support, perform routine administrative tasks to assist resources management staff and to acquire equipment, supplies or services through open market procedures using acquisition procedures.
Classifies and verifies a wide variety of accounting documents in order to assure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information, and to prepare control sheets with appropriate accounting codes. Maintains double-entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers and posting entries to establish accounts. Prepares monthly balances, reconciles accounts, and transcribes to general ledger for closeout of all accounts. Traces discrepancies, if necessary, to posting documents, computes operational expenses incurred by individual activities for accounting services provided, and assigns charges appropriately. Reports prepared may include profit and loss statements, financial statements, and miscellaneous financial reporting data. Determines procurement method based on such factors as procurement history, urgency of need, estimated cost, and applicable directives. Prepares requests for quotation to obtain quotes for small purchases and contracts. Verifies and abstracts information from vendors for orders or contracts. Reviews offers for compliance. Negotiates with vendors on a variety of issues, such as price breaks, accelerated delivery, reduction of service charges, etc. Prepares documentation for award. Issues purchase/delivery orders, Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) (priced and unpriced), Individual Service Contracts, Concessionaire Contracts, and other contracts and agreements within limits of contracting officer's warrant. Responsible for post award administration. Administers contracts, orders, agreements, and modifications, including follow-up. Gathers, monitors, and maintains data, related to purchasing, prepares reports and responds to inquiries. Uses automated systems to input purchase requests, issue orders, request for quotations (RFQ), and other purchasing associated information. This position may require occasional travel. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Responsible for vouchering and payment processing using the invoice payment processing system (IPPS) to ensure payment is proper and timely.
• Ensure all processing rejects are resubmitted within 24 hours of identification.
• Verifies payment documents against the accepted document listing (ADL) the following day after payment processing to ensure the correct payment amount.
• Processes vendor inquiries, researching payment records and providing timely information and/or corrections as necessary.
• Researches returned payments and initiates reissuance if appropriate.
• Receives obligation documents for certification as to the availability of funds. This is a detailed process involving a multiplicity of obligatory instruments requiring determinations from several appropriations and funds. These are further subdivided into programs, limitations and analysis, which must be verified as proper prior to obligation.
• It is imperative that obligations made for documents submitted to Fiscal Section for certification are contained within the limits of funding available. Failure to do so can result in serious consequences to the station.
• Utilizes an extremely complex interrelated system of fund control, cost, general ledger and allotment a counting. Numerous combinations of the above are utilized in making a single analysis. The incumbent is responsible to make determination for each document processed.
• Monthly reconciliation of subsidiary records to FMS Reports generated.
• Prepares and verifies numerous types of FMS code sheets which generate general ledger entries for all of the above types of transactions.
• Performs a variety of duties in relation to maintaining controlling accounts and subsidiary records such as general post funds, personal funds of patients, suspense fund accounts, employee travel advances, and inventory accounts.

The Manager of General Accounting will be primarily responsible for US GAAP and RAS reporting and leading a team of professional accountants in executing daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly general accounting processes. In addition, other responsibilities include analyzing monthly activity, managing corporate general ledgers, Fixed Assets, and monthly GL close processes for areas of responsibility, balance sheet account reconciliations including the corporate bank/cash accounts, as well as ensuring SOX and internal control compliance

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Maintain accurate financial records to report correct information in a timely manner in accordance with US GAAP and Flowserve policies and procedures. This includes:

• Account reconciliations are completed, reviewed and approved on time for all accounts.

• Reconciling items are clearly identified and are addressed timely (<90 days)

• Own cut-off procedures and review to ensure revenue and accruals are appropriately and timely recorded.

• Work with the Shared Service Center in Hungary to ensure the correct accounting and reconciliations of A/R, A/P, Fixed Assets and several Accruals.

• Correct application of ASC606 standard, Overtime-POC (when applicable).

• Monthly contract reviews (Costs estimations and variances reviews)

• Perform and execute all comprehensive procedures to ensure all “known” assets and liabilities are included in the financial statements.

• G/L maintenance exists and mappings between local ERP and corporate consolidating systems are understood, managed, and maintained.

• Embrace, adopt and implement Continuous Improvement Programs or Plans

• Operating under tight schedules

• Maintain discipline in decentralized processes (billing, cycle counts, hour tracking, etc.)

Support the monthly close process through meeting deadlines established within the group, division or corporation. This includes:

• Consolidation corporate system loads / Local GL loads

• Supplemental information Templates

• Quarterly Templates (Site analytics and key control processes)

• Monthly Reports

• Owns the annual cost roll process.

• Periodic Information Requests

Ensure compliance and support the Internal Audit / External Audit process:

• Maintain financial management processes to ensure compliance with corporate policies and internal practices.

• Keep Key controls procedures update and review them periodically (at least quarterly).

• Ensure Reserves and accruals calculations are in line with Corporate polices and contain all the required supporting documentation.

• Coordinate and drive all internal and external (statutory) audits for the site ensuring the timely and correct delivery of the information meeting all deadlines.

Support Business Units to achieve their business objectives:

• Provide information about inventories that help identify the slow movement inventory and inventory to become obsolete, so Operations can take preventive and corrective actions about it.

• Provide information about departmental expenses, plant Utilization and Cost Variances to be used on Operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, MBA is a plus.

• 5+ years of experience as Controller, Accounting Manager or Finance Business Partner

• Industrial manufacturing operation, within the last 4 years and having managed 3+ direct reports

• Experience supervising multiple plants both onsite and remote

• Strong Ethical Behavior, Accounting (specially Project and costs accounting areas), financial metrics, US GAAP, SOX, Internal controls and Audit, ASC 606 with experience in Overtime-POC accounting, personnel management capacity and experience, decision making, )

• Advanced Excel; Inventory Accounting; operating within a Shared Services Organization environment; high volume of products, customers and invoices and public company regulations and compliance.

Preferred Experience:

• ERP systems SAP S4 is desirable and financial consolidation systems (BPC, Hyperion, etc.

Job Description

This position is responsible for the maintenance, administration and support of Finance Systems, and ancillary systems, in alignment w/ Finance programs, goals and initiatives. Reporting to the Controller, the Finance Systems Analyst serves as a subject matter expert (SME) related to Finance business processes, systems functionality, configuration and capabilities. This position will play a lead role in the implementation and support of systems initiatives and participate in vendor evaluations and assessments. Participate in scheduled systems upgrades, including test plan development, regression/patch testing, and reviewing and prototyping new functionality.  Support change management activities, including authoring user documentation and facilitating training sessions. Gather and qualify business requirements and recommend solutions in collaboration with partnering teams (IT, Payroll, HR). Analyze existing workflows, document and streamline processes. Perform system configurations and maintenance Assist with the development and maintenance of a reporting repository and supports reporting and analytics requests. Contribute to the maintenance and accuracy of systems data, in the form of data loads and audits.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field OR a combination of related work experience with the Workday platform and Finance. 

• 3+ years of experience as a Workday Financial Analyst or similar role.

• Comprehensive understanding of Workday's Financial and Payroll modules.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work closely with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of the organization.

• Familiarity with applicable regulations and standards specific to the healthcare sector will be a plus.
