• Performs a wide range of tasks involving the maintenance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of financial accounting data and the application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and theories in the management of financial accounts and operations and other related activities.
• Posts general ledger accounts from original documents received utilizing the principles of accounting and double entry bookkeeping.
• Reviews, examines, verifies, and analyzes for validity, completeness and accuracy.
• Work assignments may encompass both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Obtains missing or corrected data and information from supporting documents and /or the program manager.
• Extracts information from several sources ensuring that all required information is included.
• Verifies purchase orders and other procurement documents to ensure purchases are authorized and invoices are reconciled for payment to vendors.
• Maintains an internal control system and follow procedures
• Verifies transfer documents, reconcile DAR clearing account and post inventory submissions.
• Inventory responsibilities include calculating monthly cost of goods sold figures.

Classifies and verifies a wide variety of accounting documents in order to assure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information, and to prepare control sheets with appropriate accounting codes. Maintains double-entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers, posting entries to establish accounts. Prepares monthly balances, reconciles accounts, and transcribes to general ledger for closeout of all accounts. Traces discrepancies, if necessary, to posting documents, computes operational expenses incurred by individual activities for accounting services provided, and assigns charges appropriately. Provide support to assigned activities personnel in preparing 1876's, ending inventory, etc. Provide training and coaching as needed to activity managers. Review, maintain, and file documents received on a daily basis according to guidelines established. Assist in Records Management of accounting files. Assist NAF Payroll with the review of time sheets and attendance reports as needed. Assist in correcting time and attendance of NAF employees. Prepare payroll reports on a as needed basis. Provide training to NAF Activities related to these duties. Support Private Organization Coordinator with review of PO documents from establishment to dissolution. Performs other related duties as assigned. May occasionally require working at an alternate location within JBSA. (Note: Typically, will work 8 hours a day between the range of 0700-1700 M-F)

The purpose of this position is to provide a full range of accounts payables duties using the Air Force Services Financial Management System (AFSFMS) accounts payable module. Performs the full range of accounts payable duties using double-entry accrual accounting methods and reconciliation as an Accounting Technician using AFSFMS. Creates and manages supplier databases, profiles and accounts. Verifies purchase order and invoice documents are mathematically correct, complete, correctly formatted and entered into the system in accordance with procedural guidance. Operates the invoice matching, approval, and payment systems and validates the accuracy of those processes. Works with the integration of accounts payable module with other modules such as purchasing, property management, assets, inventory, cash management and general ledger. Identifies and traces discrepancies to posted accounts payables transactions. Receives notices from external/internal customer inquiries or other NAF SSC Division request for source documents. Responsible for post award administration. Administers contracts, orders, agreements, and modifications, including follow-up. Gathers, monitors, and maintains data, related to purchasing, prepares reports and responds to inquiries. Uses automated systems to input purchase requests, issue orders, request for quotations (RFQ), and other purchasing associated information. This position may require occasional travel. Performs Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for employees with direct deposit through an authorized Air Force Agent. Verifies all pay action documents, processes payroll checks, and completes all other related reports. Provides Time Management and NAF Payroll Systems training on an as required basis, at the direction of the supervisor.
