Overview:
Completes a variety of routine clerical accounting duties and prepares routine investor reports and remittances for investor, Bank and general ledger reconciliations in compliance with investor guidelines or Bank policies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete timely and accurate reporting of mortgage portfolio activity to various private and/or agency investors to mitigate financial and reputational risks in accordance with investor servicing agreements and guidelines.
Gather and research data to prepare routine investor accounting reports including daily, weekly and/or monthly departmental reporting assignments
Prepare monthly SONYMA and HNI cutoff reports and remittances
Remit collections to SONYMA for each bond series on a daily basis based on established thresholds.
Review SONYMA Detailed Purchase Report to ensure loans are purchased at the most up-to-date balances and due dates.
Transfer newly purchased SONYMA and HNI loans on weekly and/or monthly basis.
Complete research to resolve reporting discrepancies with the investors as needed.
Communicate with internal and external business partners to assist in resolution of routine to more complex inquiries and/or issues.
Update procedures due to changes in process or investor requirements as required.
Adhere to established policies, procedures and limits focusing on observable breaches in Corporate Risk policies.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The position works independently under general supervision. This position interacts with internal Bank partners as well as third party investors, with support of the Group Leader.
Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 3 years’ work experience
Effective communication skills
Prior experience working under critical time constraints
Detail-oriented
Good organizational skills
Strong math skills
Strong analytical skills
Knowledge of pertinent software products, including spreadsheet software
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree
Knowledge of the Bank’s servicing system
Minimum of 4 years’ investor reporting experience
Ability to engage and lead team members
Schedule/Required Availability:
Monday-Friday with flexible start/end times. Common schedules on the team include: 6:00am-2:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, and 8:00am-4:30pm.
Location/Working Model:
This is a hybrid position that requires coming into the office at least 2-3 days per week. Our office is located at 575 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14203.
Hourly Rate/Compensation:
While the entire salary range is shown below, the budget for this position is $21.00 - $24.00 per hour. Employees in this position also receive 4 weeks of paid time off (PTO) plus 11 paid holidays.
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.57 - $30.95 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
