Summary of This Role

Performs a broad range of accounting functions with responsibility for accounting records in a small office or organization department. Assigns transaction codes to documents. Ensures documents being processed are included in the appropriate accounting period. Posts, balances, and closes subsidiary ledgers. Follows up on delinquent accounts receivable customers. Analyzes and verifies internal consistency, completeness, and accuracy of account documents and makes adjustments.

What Part Will You Play?

• Performs more clerical accounting functions supporting the accounting department and other accounting associates to include entering routine travel expenses or invoice data into system, typing memos, scanning, filing, and providing documentation. Occasionally assists in verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records. Assists in performing simple balancing, reconciliations, corrections to rejections, and accounting errors, containing basic calculations, as directed.
• Functions as a first point of contact for internal clients, external clients, or vendors for routine accounting questions and inquiries. Assists in researching issues or complaints for client/customer disputes.
• Updates and maintains accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (i.e. disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable). Enters data into computer system using legacy computer programs. Compiles data and prepares a variety of standardized reports, as directed, to be reviewed by more experienced associates or management. Retains supporting documentation as defined by record retention guidelines, for audit purposes.

How you’ll create opportunities in this Senior Audit Associate role:

• Executing and managing the day-to-day activities of audit engagements with business clients from start to finish alongside Firm leadership. This includes managing the budget, planning, fieldwork, directing staff and completing financial statements, including related disclosures.
• Reviewing client accounting and operating procedures
• Developing and assessing the design and implementation of internal controls
• Preparing all necessary financial statement and related disclosures and reportable condition correspondence letters
• Utilizing proactive and effective communication with staff, management, and clients to communicate technical matters to both clients and management.

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is required.
• Two years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations is required.

The Accounting Generalist performs day to day accounting activities, reporting and issue

resolution between operations and the shared service operations. The position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial reports and transactions as appropriate. This position ensures that operations are in compliance with all internal control procedures. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports, cashier activities, taking inventories, receiving & accounting as defined in the procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Perform ad hoc accounting activities in support of operations and Financial Director
• Banking and auditing the cash boxes (front desk, bar, restaurants, etc.), daily deposit to bank, and petty cash
• Organize and distribute paychecks as directed
• Attend precon meetings and client billing review
• Performs storeroom/receiving activities as appropriate according to accepted procedures, verifies receipt of materials and supplies as specified on purchase order documents; places materials received into appropriate storage
• Ensures all hotel licenses/permits are renewed on a timely basis; tracks expiration dates and notifies management of deadlines
• Transmits copies of checks and daily check log to shared services for proper posting
• Brings cash and checks to local bank for daily deposit
• Assists in the preparation and distribution of reports generated by the department
• Establishes and maintains files and distribute information, mail to shared services
• Obtains data and information necessary to assist in responding to inquiries
• Answers incoming phone calls, directs calls to appropriate department as necessary
• Assist in the completion of special projects as assigned by the Finance Director
• Assists in the completion of computerized receiving reports and transmission of receiving documentation to appropriate parties (defined in procedures)
• Assists in the performance of monthly quarterly and annual inventories as appropriate
• Regular attendance in conformance with standards
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotel
• Required to attend all training sessions and meetings
