We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Vice President, Senior Internal Audit Manager – Sanctions and Anti-Bribery & Corruption - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Senior Audit Manager - C14) based in Changi Business Park, Singapore. The Senior Audit Manager is a senior level position responsible for developing and executing a robust Audit Plan, in coordination within the Audit Financial Crime and/or other Internal Audit (IA) teams.

This role directs the timely delivery of complex high quality, value-added assurance and audit reports for both first and second Lines of Defense to meet the requirements of the Boards of Citigroup and Citibank, their affiliates and of Citi’s respective regulators, globally. This role will contribute to the scoping and execution of global Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (AB&C) programs coverage in accordance with established IA methodology and professional auditing standards, legal entity governance reporting, and other audit issue validation.

The candidate should also have functional knowledge of local regulatory requirements for Sanctions and Bribery & Corruption controls that have been established to comply with the United States and other in-country regulatory requirements, Citi policies and procedures, provisions and guidelines established by the United States Treasury Department and other regulatory agencies as related to sanctions and bribery & corruption. The candidate must have a working knowledge of regulatory requirements (international and/or regional) and the related risks and controls and demonstrate the ability to work with senior management and lead audit team execution.

In this role, you’re expected to:

• Execute audit from end to end, draft audit reports, validate IA and regulatory issues and conduct business monitoring activities and deliver governance committee reports;
• Participate in major business initiatives and pro-actively advise and assist the business on change initiatives;
• Implement integrated auditing concepts and technology, and follow trends in the Audit field and adapt them for the Audit function;
• Applies an in-depth understanding of the inter-relationships of business and support units throughout the corporation and how they impact the overall control environment and the audit approach;
• Uses excellent communication skills in order to influence a wide range of internal audiences including respective product, function, or regional executive management partners. May negotiate internally often at higher levels on matters which will have a major impact on the area managed;
• Identify solutions for a variety of complex and unique control issues, utilizing complex judgement and sophisticated analytical thought;
• Analyze report findings, and recommend interventions where needed, proposing creative and pragmatic solutions to risk and control issues;
• Partner with Directors and Managing Directors to develop approaches for addressing broader corporate emerging issues;
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in Financial Services, especially in the areas associated with Risk and Control, Internal Audit, Financial Crime such as Sanctions, Compliance and Regulatory Risk;
• Related certifications [CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or similar] preferred;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills;
• Subject matter expertise regarding audit technology and Sanctions and Anti-Bribery & Corruption programs including emerging risks in the areas;
• Quantitative analytic skills and knowledge, including sampling methodology and statistical theory and methods;
• Understanding of Sanctions alert analysis, case review and investigation;
• Effective project management skills with ability to maintain timely delivery of quality results;
• Effective influencing, negotiation, and relationship management skills;
• Demonstrated ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred

LOCATION

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage all quarterly and annual regulatory and statutory filings, including all financial statements, schedules, and notes/disclosure schedules to the financial statements
• Manage monthly accounting close related activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations for premiums, losses, reinsurance, and statutory adjustments
• Lead the research, reporting and documentation of all Statutory technical accounting matters • Review any U.S. GAAP-to-Statutory reconciliations and changes in accounting treatment
• Review supplemental schedules and state and regulatory reports
• Compile all financial data from tax and investment teams to include in all regulatory and statutory filings
• Manage all premium tax filings in all states and municipalities
• Coordinate all activities with external auditors relating to statutory audits, including providing certain schedules and variance explanations and audited financial statements and related footnote disclosures thereto
• Work with IT and other departments cross-functionally to continually improve processes
• Provide support to Capital Management team for Statutory capital inquires and needs
• Liaison with Department of Insurance for all regulatory-related audits and reviews
• Lead a team of internal and external professionals to deliver on team goals

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 3+ years of direct management experience
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in insurance, NAIC and regulatory accounting and reporting
• CPA
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, time management & deadline adherence
• Strong oral and written communication skills – including ability to draft footnotes and MD&A
• Experience with internal and external audits

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Sr Internal Audit Manager located in Guadalajara North, Austin, Columbia, Memphis or Buffalo Grove.

Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit the Internal Audit Senior Manager will be responsible to oversee and implement, together with the Audit Director, the internal audit function for his or her geographic region and is responsible for planning and managing the audit activities, as well as for performing detailed audit work when required. The focus of this position is to bring a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes, and to conduct audits to assure management that all entities reviewed are conforming to Corporate, Statutory, Government, and local policies and procedures, as well as assuring minimized risk in the day-to-day activities of the company.

What a typical day looks like:

• Analyze potential risks and recommend appropriate audit locations and activities
• Interact with senior management to develop audit scope and procedures
• Provide training and coaching to auditors at all levels
• Prepare budgets, complete work on time, and evaluate performance of audited facilities and audit team
• Prepare planning memos, risk assessments, and reports
• Perform fieldwork, including testing controls, conducting management interviews, analytical reviews, fraud reviews, and due diligence reviews
• Identify and document controls to protect assets, evaluate areas of risk, and detect/prevent fraud
• Prepare recommendations for consideration or implementation
• Prepare, utilize, and review work papers
• Stay updated on laws and regulatory issues impacting corporate governance and control
• Interact with management at audited sites and at the regional level
• Collaborate with external auditors as required

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Extensive experience in an audit or consulting firm
• Experience in audit or accounting/finance areas within a global company (as an Internal Audit Manager or similar position)
• Knowledge of internal controls in various areas such as procurement, legal, brand protection, health and safety, human resources, etc.
• SOX controls knowledge
• Advanced level of spoken and written English
• Ability to travel frequently (up to 40%)
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
• Strong management skills required
• Process audit experience
• CIA, CPC, CPA certification preferred
• Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese is a plus
• Knowledge in systems audit preferred
