Your day in the life of a Internal Auditor at Optus
This is a role within the Sydney-based Internal Audit (“IA”) group, which is focused on Risk based technology audits and reviews at Singtel’s Australian operations, comprising Optus, NCS, its subsidiaries, associates and other Singtel Group entities.
The ‘Internal Audit Manager – RA’ role is responsible for completing audits of processes, systems, projects relevant to the various revenue streams to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls. The Audit Manager supports the planning, execution, and reporting of audits, including liaison with senior management of Optus and Singtel on audit results.
IA’s primary goal is providing assurance to management on the operation of controls and the business’ management of risk by completing audits and reviews using a risk-based methodology. The areas to be audited are determined by the preparation of an Audit Plan and from ad hoc requests from the Singtel Audit Committee, Optus Advisory Committee or Senior Management in Optus and Singtel.
Your skills to pay the bills
• Degree qualified in Business, Finance, IT or Accounting;
• Experience with Telco network infrastructure and supporting systems and demonstrative understanding of expected risks and controls (ideal);
• Proven audit experience, preferably in Big 4 accounting firms or Internal Audit department of a large corporate or MNC;
• Experience in digital/ tech industry is a plus;
• Experience of process analysis and control assessment to identify weaknesses and improvement areas including an understanding of system infrastructure and information/data flows;
• Risk awareness, with understanding of business processes and controls;
• Understanding of data analytics concepts. Experience performing data analysis a plus; &
• Experience in using Audit Management System and familiarity with Continuous Auditing and Agile methodology a plus.
