Overview & Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Day to day control and management of the accounting of the Jeannette Oracle operations, insuring accounting is handled in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and corporate financial policies.
BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE
Requires Bachelor Science degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
CPA is preferred.
Requires 7 to 10 years of experience in the accounting area, plus a good working knowledge of related finance activities.
Must have strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, both foreign and domestic, but particularly IFRS. Communication skills, verbal and written are essential for effective receipt and interpretation of
financial data, especially to non-financial managers.
Requires a basic knowledge of computer systems as related to Oracle, FCCS and personal computers.
Experience with SAP is preferred.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
Day to day Control and management of the Accounting of the Jeanette Oracle Operations.
Effectively use the computerized accounting system (Oracle). Including coordinate and perform Oracle system maintenance.
Ensures that the results are reflected in the local systems (Oracle) Consolidation system (FCCS) and reporting systems (Stravis) charts if accounts.
Reviews monthly journal entries for sign-off for audit / JSOX compliance.
Manages the warranty process including reconciling accounts, reporting, and advising on company policy.
Manages the upfront process for capital including maintain record of approved capital budgets compared to plan, obtaining proper approvals, and loading projects into Oracle.
Ensures that financial transactions of all Elliott Company entities are recorded in accordance with financial policies and GAAP.
Maintain Compliance with internal control policy & practice.
Analyzes financial transactions, interpreting significant deviations from planned activity for Elliott management.
Supervises the monthly and quarterly balance sheet review, ensuring detailed data is reconciled to the general ledger and all items are currently identified and required.
Complies with the requests of the Financial Statements Auditors and Internal Auditors in a manner which allows them to complete their duties on a timely basis.
Identifies and facilitates process improvement within the Finance department.
Supports the quarterly Stravis submission process, and the Annual Financial Statements process.
Responsible for Department training, appraisals and payroll approvals.
Performs any other ad hoc or special duties, projects or analyses as directed by the company.
