Major Duties (To include but not limited to):
- The Assistant Nurse Manger supports the Nurse Manager with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operations of their designated units.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger provide coverage for other Assistant Nurse Mangers as needed.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger completes orientation according to expected standards.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger works with close supervision, is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and seeks direction from others as needed.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger manages workload as assigned, organizes, and completes own assignments in an efficient and appropriate manner.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary care.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger establishes a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to attain, maintain or regain optimal function through assessment and treatment.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger engages patients, families, and other caregivers to incorporate knowledge, values, and beliefs into care planning without judgement or discrimination.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger is knowledgeable of ethical issues related to professional nursing practice and follows established policies of the practice setting, VA, and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- The Assistant Nurse Manger is aware of high reliability principles to deliver consistent care and improve patient outcomes.
Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
