This post is an important part of our ongoing development of medical services at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, offering the successful applicant the opportunity to work closely with the existing Oncologists to provide a high standard of care across the Trust. We are seeking a Specialty Doctor with enthusiasm, commitment and drive to work closely with colleagues throughout the organisation and within the community to help lead the organisation.

The post holder will have a special interest in Medical oncology based at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage. This is a substantive post and comprises 10 programmed activities (PAs).
This is an excellent opportunity within the Oncology department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The post holder will provide care for cancer inpatients, patients are assessed in both routine clinic appointments and as an emergency through the acute oncology service.
The post is not recognised as a training post; however, on-going training will be provided. We have an active Postgraduate teaching programme in a modern Postgraduate Centre on the hospital site. In addition, staff support, and mentoring is also available.
The post holder will gain invaluable experience various tumour types, with exposure to use of novel therapies (including immunotherapies, targeted therapies) and will have the opportunity to enhance their e-portfolio. The post holder will also be involved with clinical trials and managing patients on experimental treatments.
The post holder will be encouraged to participate in audits, presentations and teachings.
Although, this post is not recognised for training the appointee will be encouraged in their training and development within the role.

Ward 7A is the our new vascular surgery hub for the region, we cover east & north Herts, west Herts and Essex. We are a 29 bedded ward, compromising of 23 inpatient beds, 6 high level care beds (HDU), and an outpatient vascular hot clinic.

With this in mind, you will work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team caring for patient pre and post surgery, rotating around our general ward as well as our 6 higher level care beds. The role requires working days/ nights/ weekdays/weekends and bank holidays.

We have a 1-year fixed term post available in the Paediatrics department, and the post holder will be expected to participate in the middle grade rota covering Acute Paediatrics and Local Neonatal Unit. This is an excellent opportunity within Paediatrics at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
The Trust will look to supporting the successful candidate in furthering their Paediatric knowledge through exposure to clinics, operating lists (elective and emergency), ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings and formal teaching.

To ensure the systematic provision of a specialist clinical / counselling psychology service across the MHLT service at Lister General Hospital (LGH) for the provision of psychological interventions for service users presenting with co-morbid mental health difficulties including complex medically unexplained symptoms (MUS) and severe and enduring mental health problems presenting to LGH. To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists, psychological therapists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment, as well as providing assessment and therapy as required. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the MHLT To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
