A Project Manager with Construction, Mechanical or EMC / RF Shielding is required, where they can be based from home, but will require travel to Hertfordshire and also Clients too. This Project Manager role is integral to overseeing the design, development, and delivery of complex engineering solutions. You will manage projects end-to-end, ensuring timely completion within budget, aligned to client specifications. The position offers opportunities to engage with cross-functional teams, develop client relationships, and contribute to industry-leading projects.
As the Project Manager, you will be pivotal in managing multiple engineering projects, ensuring excellence in execution and adherence to customer requirements. From initial scoping and design to delivery and post-completion evaluations, you will orchestrate internal and external resources to fulfil key objectives. The role involves hands-on technical engagement and team collaboration to deliver innovative solutions within the RF and engineering domains.
Role Overview
Collaborate with sales teams to scope and estimate project requirements.
Provide initial quotes and pricing for sales opportunities.
Conduct site visits to survey and specify customer needs.
Oversee project timelines, resources, and costs, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
Minimise project risks through proactive analysis and management.
Coordinate with installation teams and ensure health and safety standards on-site.
Manage any external sub-contractors or partnering businesses.
Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to maintain productive relationships.
Review and ensure specifications are met by supply chain partners.
Serve as a technical liaison with suppliers, handling overall design responsibility.
Utilise CAD/Revit applications to support technical design processes.
Experience & Skills Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
Experience project management experience in an engineering or construction -led environment.
Skilled or good appreciation in CAD applications, ideally Revit.
Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
Certification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, CAPM, PMP, Six Sigma).
Strong expertise in quantity surveying and estimation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Effective problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities.
Excellent people management skills with experience in multi-trade environments
Full UK Driving license
