Clinical duties include: Assuming Consultant responsibility for young people under the care of ACTS. Providing psychiatric assessment, including risk assessment for young people referred to, and under the care of, the service. This includes undertaking urgent gate keeping assessments. Providing treatment for young people under the care of ACTS, including providing medication management. Working in close collaboration with the inpatient and bed management teams. Working in partnership with young people, parents and carers to develop evidence-based, effective and agreed care plans. Ensuring effective communication with referring and receiving teams throughout the Trust. Providing consultation, advice and appropriate support to professionals in the wider network of the young person and/or family. Coordinating multiagency packages of care, treatment and support for young people and their families with complex mental health problems. Initiating and participating in care plan review meetings, CPAs and other multiagency meetings. Co-ordinating clinical liaison with clinicians in other community CAMHS services and other agencies. Contributing to the CNWL Out of Hours consultant psychiatric on-call rota. Providing cross-cover for the other consultant in the team for annual and study leave as part of planned reciprocal cover arrangements. Auditing of psychiatric practice and multidisciplinary work. Recording of clinical activity and prompt submission of returns in line with service requirements. Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous medical notes in line with the Trusts record keeping policy. Management duties include: Taking a leadership role within the team and providing appropriate support, supervision and psychiatric advice to other team members. Sharing with colleagues responsibility for the day to day management of the team. Attending and chairing regular meetings as described in the job plan. Active involvement in local Care Quality and Performance group. Active involvement in the Quality Improvement programme for Tier 4 within the organisation. Participating in the planning, distribution and allocation of clinical, administrative, professional and managerial tasks. In partnership with colleagues, developing common clinical policies and guidelines for the teams. Collaborating with the Service Manager in the development of the service in line with commissioning requirements and service development plans. Identifying areas of unmet needs and alerting the Service Manager and line manager/clinical director if appropriate. Clinical supervision duties include: Providing clinical supervision to junior doctors based in the team. Liaison duties include: Liaison with the inpatient teams, Urgent Care and Out of Hours teams, CAMHS community teams, learning disability services, adult services etc. regarding the transfer of care of young people in accordance with the Trust Protocols. Liaising with other services, agencies and professionals as appropriate to clinical work, management tasks or service development.
