5G Vulnerability Analyst, Lead

On our team, you’ll be trusted to probe targets using the latest network-based analysis tools like Splunk, NetWitness, FireEye, and MITRE ATT&CK Framework. Using your innate curiosity and technical expertise, you’ll use available information to select attack vectors and match attack vectors to tools, capabilities, and mission intent. You’ll guide government and law enforcement agencies by leveraging forensic-based tools to gain access and perform actions on the targeted network as required.
In this role, you’ll mentor a team as it uncovers previously unknown and emerging adversary capabilities that impact 5G implementations by uncovering previously unknown and emerging adversary capabilities and using client proprietary and open-source tools. You Have:
- 10+ years of experience as a Vulnerability Analyst
- Experience with designing, deploying, operating, troubleshooting, or performing security assessment or vulnerability analysis of 5G and 4G/LTE systems
- Experience in the analysis of specifications for 5G and 4G/LTE systems specifically concerning architectures, procedures, protocols, and signaling and user traffic flows
- Experience with cyber security defense policies, strategies, or configurations of 5G and 4G/LTE telecommunication systems or traditional IT infrastructure
- Experience with performing threat and vulnerability analysis and management, including identification of threats and vulnerabilities, testing and evaluation of mitigation strategies, recommendations for mitigation strategies, implementing mitigations, validation of effectiveness of mitigations, and thoroughly documenting throughout the process
- Experience with cyber security tools, including Nmap, Nessus, OpenVAS, Wireshark, and tcpdump
- Experience with analyzing the results of cyber security tools and making recommendations based on findings of those cyber security tools
- Experience with using Wireshark and tcpdump to capture and analyze packets and follow packet flows for complex interactions, including 5G or 4G/LTE communications
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or Cybersecurity
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with using, analyzing, or building software applications and components that use GTPv2-C, GTP-U, HTTP/2, TCP/UDP/IP, and DNS
- Experience with using containers or Virtual Machines (VMs) to perform tasks, including deploying software services or performing security analysis of said systems
- Experience with Linux, with strong command line competency, ssh, simple bash scripting, and installing and debugging software services
- Experience with 5G features and architectures, including network slicing, edge computing, massive IoT, and URLLC
- Experience with leading a team of two or more people to set goals, schedule, and objectively monitor performance and progress
- Experience with using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and clients to define objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines, provide progress updates, present recommendations, or whiteboard solutions
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or Cybersecurity

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
