NOTE: This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 4 Years). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4). Term appointments may be extended without further competition (up to the 4-year maximum). • Prepare reports developed by others for publication by making sure the material conveys what is intended to say, is arranged logically, presents facts to support the conclusions drawn, is in accordance with agency policy, and is written clearly and interestingly for the intended audience.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for all processes by overseeing the entire SOP within the various research programs.
• Work both collaboratively and independently to develop new and creative web design features as well as updating and maintaining essential information on the program's internal website.
• Participate in development and collection of critical data for high-level projects such as briefings, preparing presentations, and validating the accuracy and validity of presentation or dissemination material content.

• You will be responsible for providing consultation for a wide range of human performance (HP), human performance improvement (HPI), human systems integration (HSI), education, and training policies.
• You will conduct analyses to identify or validate training requirements, using the systems approach to training.
• You will advise and consult Project Managers for training system/device acquisition or modification on matters related to the interpretation of complex training requirements.

This announcement is for a position as a CORE (Cadre of On-Call Response/Recovery Employee). CORE employees are full-time employees hired to directly support the response and recovery efforts related to disasters. Employees are hired under the Robert T. Stafford Act and are excluded from the provisions of title 5, United States Code, governing jobs in the competitive service. They can be hired under a streamlined process instead of a competitive process. After three years of continuous service, Stafford Act employees may be granted competitive eligibility to apply for permanent full-time positions at FEMA.

This position will be hired into a temporary 4 Years, excepted service appointment. Appointments may be renewed based on workload, funding, and supervisory approval.

This position has promotion potential to the 12. Promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, successful performance review displaying at least one year of experience at the lower grade, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and management approval.

• You will conduct continuing surveillance of work involving radioactive materials and radiological controls associated with naval nuclear propulsion plant work.
