An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Coding Department for a Clinical Coding Operational Support Manager. The post holder will have lead responsibility for the day-to-day line management of the coding teams, coding co-ordinator and coding analysts located across ABUHB sites.
The post holder will be an essential member of the senior management team of the Clinical Coding Service and will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of best practices and processes to ensure the highest quality of clinically coded data across the Health Board.
As the Clinical Coding department works towards more digital ways of working, we are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic individual for the above position.
The post holder will join our growing innovative team and play a key role in identifying areas for improvement, assisting in the development and implementation of best practices and processes.
The post holder will be an essential member of the senior management team and must have the ability to lead and motivate others.

Support Clinical Coding Service Development Manager in the development of a high quality, robust clinical coding service for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, ensure that coded data meets local and national targets for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness. and be prepared to provide temporary cover in their absence.
Support the Clinical Coding Service Development Manager in identifying where the Clinical Coding Service can be made more effective, efficient, and relevant through the application of new technologies or skills, working closely with the senior management team.
To work with senior medical staff, at all levels of the organisation, to ensure that they understand their importance in the clinical coding process and what they can do to support and improve the accuracy, completeness, and timelines of clinical coding.
In conjunction with the coding management team will ensure the accurate, timely and complete clinical coding of all episodes of care for patients cared for by ABUHB using internationally recognised coding structures approved by the World Health Organisation and adopted by NHS Wales.
Represent ABUHB on various national groups and will actively support new initiatives and contribute to national initiatives to improve clinical coding across Wales.
Demonstrate an extensive knowledge and sound understanding of both ICD-10 and OPCS4 classifications in order to assist with training/mentoring when required.
