Job Title: Software and Systems Developer

We are recruiting for a Software & Systems Developer, with the option of remote working or you can work from one our UK offices in the South or North of England.

Key duties:

You will have a proven track record of building enterprise solutions upholding business processes. The main technologies we are looking for experience in is Azure DevOps, C# and .Net Core.

This role covers the full end-to-end process, including the following areas:

Architecture - End-to-End design and build
QA processes and metrics
CSS and Web Portal Interfaces
Applications, including progressive WebApps for multi-platform access
Build, Scripting and Configuration
Documentation and Information Dissemination
An average day as a Software Developer will include:

Providing automation, architectural and process solutions to improve the technical quality and increase the effectiveness of our in-house CRM solution that is used by over 300 employees (and growing).

Acting as a software developer champion for development, infrastructure, testing and database administration.

Entrusted with access to environments and systems, to review systems architecture, interfaces and development of automation.

We would like to speak to candidates who have the following:

Architectural experience of back-office applications and their design, including extension and expansion through integrations
Track record in delivering and supporting mission-critical, eBusiness applications and CRM’s
Application development background in a .NET, Web Services and Azure infrastructures
Experience in source and version control tools, Azure DevOps
Knowledge of the design for secure and maintainable websites and web service applications
Full development lifecycle experience, including implementation plans
Excellent communication skills; to operate with diplomacy, tact and empathy

How does the Graduate Scheme work?

You’ll be joining our charity as a permanent member of the team.

Our Graduate Scheme provides two years of training and career development and we ask candidates to commit to staying with the charity for at least this duration.

After completing your first year of the programme there will be the opportunity for everyone on the graduate scheme to take on a new challenge and apply for a promotion to Senior Education Worker, subject to satisfactory performance in role.

And after you’ve completed the two-year scheme, you’re guaranteed a position with us - our Graduate Scheme roles are permanent jobs.

New job roles and further promotions are regularly available - many of our Education Workers go on to become Centre Leaders running our centres, or take up promotion opportunities in central operational or Head Office roles.

What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

As an Education Worker, you’ll always be delivering the programme as part of your centre team, which means that any delivery is always a team effort.

The purpose of the role is to provide financial and administrative support to the Education Support Team.

Key Responsibilities:

The management of the office of the Education Support team providing a wide range of financial and administrative services.
Co-ordinate between the team, the Raising Achievement Service, and their wide range of external agencies and partners, ensuring an effective and efficient service is provided.
Gather, analyse, evaluate and interpret information from a wide range of sources. To interpret this information into styles suitable for a wide range of audiences.
To develop and support new channels of communication such as new letters, updating websites, prospectuses etc- to enable the information to be accessed by a varied audience.
Research and gather complex information from a wide range of sources, and assimilate into meaningful data in the form of databases and spreadsheets.
Analyse/interpret information to brief senior officers. Utilise information to assist in the drafting of reports for the various partnership meetings.
Preparation of reports and presentations for submission to a wide range of influential organisations such as Education Improvement Partnership, Government Office North East, Gateshead Council Cabinet, National Strategies, Health and Voluntary sector using various Microsoft software packages including PowerPoint.
Provide secretarial support to the team i.e. co-ordinating diaries of the team members and to the various partnership meetings i.e. Education Improvement Partnership/Behaviour and Attendance subgroup, National Strategies Officer Meeting, Fair Access Panel Meetings etc.
Arranging meeting venues, drafting agendas preparation of minutes. Organise, arrange, attend and support training events, training programmes and conferences.
Monitor all associated budgets and manage specific delegated budgets. Providing budget holders with regular budget reports utilising Agresso. Ensure that relevant budgets are allocated in an effective and timely manner to respective partners. To ensure costs for services are recharged correctly.
Other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade.

Qualifications:

Meeting planning/minute taking experience desirable.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite, Adobe Pro).
