As a social care assessor you will be part of a learning disability service. The team is made up of social workers and social care assessors. This role is for social care assessors. We care about people and follow a strength based and person centred model of to ensure we are working towards the goals of the people we are involved with. You will complete care act assessments, support plans and reviews; you will have contact with various stakeholder's both within the council and our external partners. All of our work is recorded on our integrated computer system; there will be times people are taking duty calls, attending various meetings and home visits.
We are looking for someone who is good with people, can understand complex communication and information and apply some analysis to this. This person is able to work independently and seek help as needed; they are a team player and believe in a shared purpose and the power of a team approach. Candidates should be enthusiastic and passionate, not afraid if hard work and need to be able to work a computer and laptop; you will work with people via the telephone over teams but most often will be face to face with citizens and their families. You will need to be ok managing a complex and multi priority diary and be aware and accepting that you need to be in the office as needed ad accordance to the service expectations. Candidates will understand what a learning disability is and reasonable adjustments that may be needed, they will be willing to learn and apply learning to their practice under the supervision of the management team.

This is not a role we consider to be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route based on Manchester City Council policy.
