Key Responsibilities

As Project Manager, He\She will be responsible for ensuring that a building project is completed safely, within an agreed timeframe and budget. Managing the practical side of every stage of the build, you will work closely with architects, surveyors and other building professionals in planning and delivery. A Project Manager is required to oversee the recladding package on a large residential building in South West London. The scheme has just commenced on site and consists of the replacement of non compliant cladding materials across 6 blocks.

This is a logistically challenging London site close to a busy railway line and several other large construction projects. Candidates ideally will come from a civil engineering / brickwork / metsec / rainscreen / curtain walling / façade background and have managed on projects of a similar calibre to this.

The successful Project Manager will be highly motivated and be able to work in a busy, pressurised environment and have proven experience working to tight deadlines. This is a temp to perm role for a minimum of 12 months or until the completion of the project in December 2025.

Lead a team that will include 2 SEOs, 3 HEOs and 1 EO; providing direction, prioritisation and supporting individual development.
Oversee the in-year management reporting for the Department across all Top Level Budgets, Enabling Organisations and ALBs. Review the consolidated financial position including the preparation of the monthly MI pack, highlighting risks and opportunities and working closely with the SFAs to drive improvements in management reporting.
Oversee external reporting to HM Treasury and other stakeholders such as the Cabinet Office including Supply Estimates, OSCAR Reporting, etc. Overseeing the monthly submission for the HMT OSCAR reporting system, ensuring the reconciliation to the MOD finance system is complete and accurate and relevant adjustments are agreed with DG Finance for the P6 1% accuracy return.
Manage the Main and Supplementary Estimate process including capturing all Estimate changes (including Operational spending), agreeing budget transfers with other government departments, ministerial submissions, preparation of the HMT submissions and Estimate Memorandums for external publication.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including HM Treasury, FMPA, DBS, TLBs, supporting cross finance functional working in Head Office and across TLBs.
Maintain a strong understanding of the HM Treasury Consolidated Budgeting Guidance and ESA requirements, providing clear guidance and advice to TLBs and stakeholders on the budgeting implications of policies, business cases, transactions etc. including leading the engagement with HMT SMEs as required.
Proactively identifying opportunities to help improve and the successful running of the Department’s finance function.

Reporting into the Contract Services Manager you will help and support the successful delivery of project(s) within budget and on time, whilst managing stakeholder and supplier relationships and helping to guide small project teams and further develop the organisations project management capability. To support to overall governance in accordance with Telent and Client QEHS procedures and ensure client expectations are met.

What you'll do:

• Assist in the financial performance of assigned project activities, including monitoring and reporting through designated systems.


• Support material ordering process as directed by the designated Project Lead


• Support of logistics plans to meet the delivery programme.


• Assist in the production of project documentation and store on designated system as directed by the designated Project Lead


• Support the specified project change control process as directed by the designated Project Lead


• Support Site Safety Inspections as per the project inspection calendar set by the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager.


• Support with site handover processes


• Support, and where directed organise and coordinate, stage gate meetings such as project kick off meetings, project gate reviews (design, start on construction), project close out sessions as defined in the Project Execution/Mobilisation Plan.


• Support the collation of information for the monthly contract review


• Collaborates and communicates with Project Stakeholders
