Seagrove Ward is a PICU for acutely unwell patients with complex issues and often high risk behaviours.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for the delivery of the highest professional standard of care, assessment, treatment and support of people within the Service.
This post is designed to be flexible within Mental Health Access and Acute Services.
The post holder would be expected to work across all of Mental Health Services should the need arise.

Key Responsibilities

To demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and leadership in respect of all colleagues.
To act as role model to the Support Workers and other staff.
To plan, implement and provide meaningful activity for patients within in-patient services.
To provide patients with assessments, care plans and treatment plans as appropriate, and ensure that these are put into practice and evaluated.
To contribute to new service developments and actively take these forward as required.
To be flexible and work with colleagues to promote the best outcomes for patients

We also offer a £250 bonus for starting this contract this will be paid out to you after 150 hours completed (4 Weeks)

We are recruiting for a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to work in the Access to Intervention Team on the Isle of Wight. The hourly rate is £30 ph paid via umbrella.

This role is to commence ASAP and will be working full time. The hours of work are flexible and can incorporate a 09:00 - 17:00 shift pattern or three x 13.5 hour shift per week.

The role of the Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner will be to work as part of the Access to Intervention service for all referrals into adult mental health on the Isle of Wight. The post holder will have a professional qualification and will have experience of working with service users experiencing mental health concerns and providing crisis mental health assessments and interventions.

The key responsibilities of the Band 6 MHP are:

* To play an active role in the triaging, processing and assessment of referrals made to Access to Intervention, over a 24 hour period.
* To ensure and take responsibility for the provision of comprehensive mental health assessments of needs and risks of people referred to the service.
* To take responsibility for planning and the delivery of care to people requiring an acute and intensive community crisis response from this service.
* To plan and take responsibility in collaborating with service users and other services/agencies on how their needs will be met on exit from this service.
* To be active in the development of the service and development of professional practice and role.
