Process Engineer

Where will you work: Onsite – Four Corners, FL (11200 State Road 37 South, Bradley, FL 33835)

We are currently seeking a Process Engineer (I, II, III or Sr.) – Florida Mining for our Florida Mining operations that will provide technical support to the mine operations group and is responsible for front-end engineering support of capital projects.  As the Process Engineer, you will serve as an active contributor to Mosaic cross-site and/or cross-functional assignments and initiatives. You will be frequently assigned to high-profile projects, support assignments, and initiatives. The successful candidate will assist our team in improving our unique industrial and mining process through process systems design and maintenance troubleshooting.

What you’ll do?

• Provide process engineering support to operations group including pumping system, flotation, sizing, and Integrated Operation Center. You will look for optimization, troubleshooting, efficiency improvement, problem solving, and problem prevention.

• Responsible for leveraging ideas and assistance including resources across mine sites.

• Provide front-end engineering development of capital projects including planning, identifying business objectives, identifying, and evaluating viable options, preliminary design development, and preliminary economic and risk mitigation evaluation.

• Responsible for commissioning and start-up support for assigned projects.

• Support current business initiatives including specific problem-solving projects or improvement activities involving multiple sites.

• Ensure site safety and environmental standards are being followed through safety audits, risk assessments, and housekeeping tours.

• Vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect fellow workers.

• Report any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees.

• Provide work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standards.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required

• 0 to 10 years of related experience; related experience may consist of phosphates, fertilizer, chemical processing, or other industry type.

• Experience with MS Office products, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project/Primavera (or similar software)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of management.

• Must demonstrate ability to influence others; requires strong leadership qualities, teamwork and problem solving/decision making.

ANALYTICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Where will you work: Onsite at New Wales, FL (3095 Hwy 640 W, Mulberry, FL 33860)

The Analytical Laboratory Technician is responsible for the preparation, analysis and data recording of samples while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety.  They are also responsible for preparing reports and maintaining database records.  This is a salaried, non-exempt, non-union position with overtime likely (OT is paid over 40hrs/wk), working 12hr swing shifts (Dupont schedule), 6am/pm – 6am/pm.

• Collect, identify, and prepare various samples for analyses.
• Set up, maintain, and operate various types of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Perform analyses using hazardous chemicals and prescribed procedures to determine quality of product samples.

Where will you work: Onsite Faustina Louisiana (9959 Louisiana 18 St James, LA 70086)

The Operator Start controls chemical process equipment as directed by control room technician.  Monitors recording instruments, flowmeters, panel lights, and other indicators, and listens for warning signals to verify conformity of process conditions to plant standards of safety and efficiency.

The Automation Engineer (AE) will develop and deploy proven and novel functional automated controls solutions in our Phosphoric Acid, Dry Products, and Sulfuric Acid plants. The AE will be responsible for the development, maintenance, deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization in all aspects of the process control system. The AE will work alongside engineering, operations, maintenance, and reliability. The AE’s goal will be to sustain statistical process control of our manufacturing operations through robust algorithms.

What you’ll do?

• Support existing Industrial Controls Systems, including programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Human Machine Interfaces/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (HMI/SCADA) systems.
• Design and implement new automation strategies for continuous processes.
• Participate in technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshooting of process controls issues related to instrumentation and controls systems.
• Develop and review process controls specifications / control narratives for in plant improvements and capital projects.
• Analyze and tune process control loops, develop interlocks and permissive strategies.
• Develop and debug function block diagrams, ladder logic and/or structured text programming language.
• Support the management of the PI data historian.
• Work with Operations and Process Control Specialists to develop and deploy High Performance HMI screens.
• Work with business unit Advanced Process Controls team to provide sustaining support of implemented automated solutions for respective location.
• Monitor alarm health and support the alarm management strategy.
• Support capital project development and implementation for Industrial Control Systems upgrades.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.

• 2+ years of experience working with Industrial Control Systems in an operational environment.
• Understanding of Process Controls fundamentals including feedback control, feedforward, cascade, ratio, decoupling, and tuning.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
• Experience with a DCS/PLC platform.
• Previous experience providing 24/7/365 support within an operational environment.

Geotech Engineer (All Levels)

The Geotech Engineer will provide technical computer modeling, analysis, and development of detailed designs for low-maintenance/low-cost, earthwork projects. They will manage projects and initiatives associated with clay disposal, dragline crossings, and various mining activities.  Provides technical analysis to support the day-to-day activities for mining operations. This position is located at South Pasture mine in Bowling Green, FL. Encompassing 25,000+ acres, The South Pasture Mine began operations in 1978. Phosphate rock is sent via rail and truck to other Mosaic manufacturing facilities to be further processed into finished phosphate products.

What you’ll do:

• Manage the front-end engineering of mining/geotechnical related projects, i.e., clay disposal, utility installations, creek crossings, mining equipment relocations, and other projects in support of mining operations.  Provides technical computer modeling, analysis, and development of geotechnical designs. 
• Provide geotechnical engineering support appropriate for problem solving of mining related issues associated with soil mechanics, hydraulics, storm-water management and open channel flow
• Monitor clay settling area performance, development, and implementation of monitoring programs and other technically related analysis
