EBAD’s electronics business provides safety critical systems that are vital to our national defense and the exploration of space. This business has experienced unprecedented growth in support of our customer’s missions and is seeking an  accomplished individual to fill the position of Director of Electronics Engineering. This position will be charged with leading the engineering team by developing talent, technologies, and processes that enable the business to profitably scale with this growing industry.  The position is located in Simsbury, CT and will report to the Vice President of Electronics.

Responsibilities:

Job Description

The Market Segment Director (MSD) is a member of the executive leadership team and will own the strategy and execution of a portfolio of defense products, sold to domestic and international customers. The MSD will drive top-line growth and margin expansion through direct leadership of a team of Program Managers and as part of a cross-functional team including engineering, operations and other support functions.  Critical to the long-term success of this market segment, the MSD must be a solid strategic thinker who can analyze the market place, assess the voice of the customer, formulate a strategic vision and effectively communicate the strategy to lead an organization.  Other responsibilities as indicated below.

EBAD seeks a critical thinking and skilled technician for the position Electronics Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Technician, reporting to the Electronics Process Engineering Lead.  The position is located in Simsbury, CT.  Relocation assistance is not provided. 

Responsibilities:

The Electronics SMT Technician will execute a variety of SMT and assembly tasks in support of the Electronics Value Stream. SMT activities include operation of equipment associated with PCBA assembly. Assembly processes include inspection, hand soldering, and other assembly related tasks as required.

EBAD is seeking a Product Engineer with experience working in an electromechanical manufacturing environment, specifically, actuators designed for spacecraft support and to release loads. Employee will be responsible for evaluating designs for manufacturability and leading development of new products into production. Candidate will have key areas of expertise in analyzing user requirements, mechanical design, tool design, and manufacturing cell layout.

Responsibilities:

This position supports and reports directly to the Product Engineering Lead.  The Product Engineer (PE) is the technical lead on internal and external projects and is responsible for all technical and schedule aspects of the project/product throughout the production life cycle. Primary duties include:

•Create 3D conceptual models to meet customer design requirements

•Perform design trade studies and hand calculations

•Perform tolerance studies to ensure design fidelity

•Interact with customers on design, interface and functional details

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering and a minimum 3 years of project, manufacturing or related engineering experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical/electromechanical assemblies. Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience in the following area:

•Design and application of electromechanical actuators

The Manager, Safety and Facilities leads the Facilities and Maintenance Teams and directs the objectives, while aligning tasks with company policies and procedures. Leads and oversees a wide range of services, maintenance, and activities in relation to manufacturing and office space.  Provides activities to establish, implement, communicate and train internal/external customers in safe work practices and compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and company Policies.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing health and safety procedures, investigating accidents and examining equipment to correct potential hazards.
• Identify, develop, and maintain company health and safety management systems, training programs, and procedures in line with all current legislation for the assigned country(s)
• Perform monthly safety inspections and maintenance.
• Represent the company at external audits on all health and safety matters.
• Ensure compliance to audit standards and work with auditors and vendors to answer findings and complaints in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.

• Establish and organize site compliance training in order to meet quality system regulatory requirements.
• Represent the company at any internal safety meetings, customer or supplier safety meetings presenting data, recording actions, and monitoring the progress of those actions
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Review plans and specifications for development of new machinery, equipment, or processes to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
• Lead the efforts managing quality systems related to safety and facilities to meet ISO certification.
• Facilitate operations related to environmental health and safety initiatives necessary to demonstrate compliance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
• Conduct audits against document compliance standard operating procedures, developing and providing detail reports as well as remediation/monitoring plans.

• Manage Facilities group responsible for building maintenance.
• Manage custodial functions for all buildings.
• Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
• Manages and reviews service contracts and verify completed work by vendors and contractors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science required in a related field
• At least 5 years in an EHS compliance role

The chosen candidate will be responsible for building a new Supply Chain organization with an unwavering focus on maintaining a reliable source of supply for the development and production teams. This position is located in Simsbury, CT and will report to the Electronics Value Stream Manager. 

The Electronics Supply Chain Manager is responsible for: 

• Leading a team of buyers and supplier quality engineers responsible for supplier sourcing, procurement, and delivery of raw materials, machined components, contract manufacturing & services in support of the Electronics Value Stream – a high-mix/low-volume engineering development and production aerospace & defense team with ~$20M of annual spend. 
• Collaborating with Production and the Integrated Product Team Leads to ensure demand is adequately represented and material OTD meets the needs of all internal customers (including driving creative solutions when upset conditions arise).  
• Partnering with Design Engineering and the supply base to develop and implement strategies for DFM implementation, part obsolescence, alternate parts, and other supply chain risk mitigations.  
• Maintaining cost-effective inventory controls for all materials, including strategic stocking plans and leveraging techniques such as vendor managed inventory to meet forecasted demand while controlling costs. 
• Analyzing existing supplier performance and health of the supply chain via Quality, Delivery, and Cost KPIs and utilizing them to lead supplier quality/delivery improvement initiatives, including new supplier qualifications and executing supplier exit strategies as needed. 
• Managing a Logistics/Material Control team responsible for safe movement and storage of materials and shipping of finished goods to customers and outside vendors.  
• Obtaining supplier/subcontractor quotes for procurement pricing for new business proposals and creating any risk mitigation recommendations. Negotiating to achieve favorable payment terms and Purchase Price Variances (PPV) during program execution.   
• Creating a strong team environment, while developing, coaching, and managing the performance of team members. 
• Evaluating existing processes and procedures and leading continuous improvement activities within the organization to ensure they support the goals of the Electronics team.

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for Linear Department personnel and Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost results while leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Candidate will work in coordination with Product Engineers, Production Planner, Assembly Production Supervisor and LTS Production Manager to ensure execution of tasks and milestones. 

Responsibilities: 

·        Ensures Safety of all Linear Department personnel and immediately addresses any safety concern. 

·        Ensures Quality of product built in the Linear Department and re-prioritizes work if product must be put on hold for quality department review/disposition. 

·        Achievement of Delivery and Cost goals in the Linear Department; ensuring adherence to standard work and manufacturing instructions. 

·        Leads continuous improvement efforts, including development of standard work, balancing of operator loading, execution of time studies and implementation of 6S initiatives. 

·        Leads manufacturing problem solving efforts, investigates process failures and implements corrective actions in support of all shifts. 

·        Implements Lean methodologies including point of use tooling, material presentation, waste elimination and process improvements. 

·        Trains and mentors assigned personnel on EBOS, ISO procedures, manufacturing documentation and continuous improvement. 

·        Supports Linear Transfer Systems team with production results tracking and identification / implementation of countermeasures to improve performance. 

·        Responsible for accurate time clock reporting of assigned personnel and timecard approvals. 

·        Ensures accuracy of inventory in production areas and supports weekly cycle counting of product. 

·        Interfaces with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and product engineers.
