Quality Assurance Engineer shall be responsible for leading a team of QA personals, maintain quality assurance protocols in a shipyard environment. Manage day to day inspections onsite and shall be the liaison between shipyard construction teams and client pertaining to quality assurance matters.
Job Description:
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in Rig Construction Industry (Oil & Gas Shipyard Environment)
- Must possess experience of working & managing Quality assurance matters in rig upgradation / repair assignments in shipyard environment.
- To create, prepare and implement the QA/QC plan and any associated and relevant directives and instructions needed to support the plan.
- Manage and coordinate Material arrival inspections and sign-off
- Audit vendors' compliance to organizations and regulatory quality standards.
- Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) is closely adhered to across organizational departments.
- Ensure departments are operating in alignment with organization’s quality policies.
- To develop and manage the quality control and quality assurance procedures and ensure works are up to the specifications.
- Conduct internal QMS audit on documentation where required and reporting of quality-related issues
- Coordinate with classification societies' and owners' representatives for relevant inspections
- Facilitate continuous improvement of production quality by implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) plans
- To Perform needed tests on site to ensure works are done according to the contract specifications.
- To prepare inspection reports
- Attend meetings and liaise with the client to ensure that quality requirement is being followed at all times.
- Maintain document record master list pertaining to equipment’s & monitor on the calibrations.
- Ensure documents and record-keeping are in compliance with quality procedures for internal and external audits
- Perform other activities as per instruction by Project Manager / Engineer.
- Excellent English communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Must be able to understand, read and interpret Structural, Piping, HVAC, mechanical electrical drawings.
- Register, monitor & Closure of NCRs, Punch Lists in construction projects.
- Willing to work in a fast paced and challenging repair environment
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Independent and self-motivated individual.
- Ensure quality documents related to the project are maintained regularly for final dossier compilation.
Qualifications:
- Min 10 years of work experience in a similar position in shipyard, ship building industry (Oil and Gas industry preferred).
- Bachelor’s / diploma in Engineering or related field.
