Duties include but are not limited to:
- Leads initiatives and participates fully in planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating of ILAB administrative functions.
- Serves as a key member of the ODUS staff, making substantial contributions to overall program planning, policy, and internal and external coordination.
- Provide expert advice and counsel on administrative operations and policies and on the availability and use of resources to achieve ILAB's mission and goals.
- Serves as an expert and has oversight over the budget, human resources, procurement, information technology, and other administrative functions.
- Analyzes and strengthens internal policies and assists in developing processes and procedures.
- Advises the Deputy Undersecretary, Associate Deputy Undersecretaries, and the Chief of Staff on any issues identified and recommends solutions.
- Ensures the planning, provision, and coordination of administrative and office services and support, including space management, telecommunications, repairs, travel, training, records management, safety and health, COOP coordination, budget, procurement, human resources, IT access, and personnel security/badge process.
- Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with regulations, policies, and laws and communicates effectively to the Bureau leadership on administrative requirements and developments with OASAM. DOL, OMB, OPM, and Congress which pertain to lLAB or impact plans and programs.
- Provides authoritative advice, guidance, and overall direction for administrative and management services to ILAB.
- Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with regulations, policies, and laws and communicates effectively to the Bureau leadership on administrative requirements and developments with OASAM. DOL, OMB, OPM, and Congress which pertain to lLAB or impact plans and programs.
- Provides authoritative advice, guidance, and overall direction for administrative and management services to ILAB.
- Serves on the ODUS leadership team and as the key advisor to the Deputy Undersecretary, Associate Deputy Undersecretaries, Chief of Staff, Office Directors, and other supervisors in administration and management.
- Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates; makes assignments based on capability and expertise; evaluates the work performance of subordinates; develops performance standards; gives advice or instruction to subordinates on work and administrative matters; and identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development or training.
- Interviews candidates for positions; recommend appointment, promotion, or assignment for positions; hears or resolves complaints from employees; refers group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level; and effects disciplinary measures.
- Responsible for ensuring all personnel management actions are following merit principles and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program guidance.
- Provides leadership and direction in preparing any request from the Department of Labor administrative offices, ensuring a proper
response, compliance with timelines, etc. - Serves as a confidential advisor to the Deputy Undersecretary and has access to confidential and sensitive information regarding personnel and management issues.
