The Fleet Engineering Specialist’s overall purpose is to be the primary source of knowledge of their assigned aircraft model(s).
They are responsible for monitoring and improving the maintenance and inspection programs to ensure Company aircraft are maintained safely.
Responsibilities:
- Review technical documentation issued by aircraft manufacturers, vendors and airworthiness authorities and issue instructions to the maintenance organization as required.
- Vetting all relevant Technical Information issued against applicable aircraft Types in a timely manner and to advise on temporary amendments and the distribution to Technical Publications.
- Act as a focal point and contact for all technical queries/requirements, including repairs, between the Company and the relevant Aircraft/Engine/Equipment manufacturers and where necessary the Company’s Clients. Also, attending any meetings with manufacturers and Airworthiness Authorities, as required.
- Review flight safety and airworthiness information and issue Instructions as required. Monitor results and inform maintenance management.
- Assess Data Change Requests and make recommendations for amendment as appropriate.
- Liaise with the Airworthiness Management Department to undertake follow up investigations/actions resulting from Safety Reporting, as applicable.
- Monitor the embodiment of Airworthiness Directives, mandatory Service Bulletins, Repairs and Company Modifications, liaising with the Supply Chain when necessary, advising Technical Records for recording purposes and providing reports to maintenance Management.
- Review of Reliability Reports, taking necessary action for improvement as required.
- Assist/advise the Maintenance Program and Reliability Analyst on the production and amendment of Maintenance Programs
- Support the Group Flight Safety Officer in the investigation/follow up to any accident or serious incident relevant to their aircraft type.
- Review Design Requests for modifications and endorse/comment as required.
- The candidate will be required to travel to support regional bases periodically
Qualifications:
- Licensed AMT - 10 plus years of Aviation maintenance or QC experience may be considered in lieu of license.
- Experienced Licensed AMT with minimum 5 years’ experience (Airbus preferred).
- Avionics experience advantageous.
