- The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
- The duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assesses both internal and external laboratory proficiency testing; monitors internal Quality Control programs; authorizes, disseminates, tracks and archives controlled documents.
- Manages and analyzes quality event databases; transfers and reports USDA/CDC Select Agents and secures and tracks primary reference standards.
- Assures that both the documentation and objective assessment needed by the client(s) to support laboratory results and Agency actions are in place and functioning.
- Provides guidance to laboratory personnel regarding the laboratory policy and/or resources.
- Provides quality assurance guidance for program, government or industry entities pertaining to lab quality assurance program, QMS, quality control, accreditation/certification, and ISO standard(s).
- Performs internal audits and targeted assessments, acts as liaison during external audits, and prepares and compiles the response to audit reports.
- Develops, modifies, evaluates, reviews, and approves Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures.
