More About the Role
- Respond to written inquiries, provide surveillance system user support regarding procedures, and applying CDC healthcare associated infection definitions and criteria.
- Knowledge in and ability to conduct data collection and analysis, report writing, and data presentation.
- Participate in interdisciplinary performance and quality improvement process.
- Assist in the review of study data for data quality and validation.
- Prepare and present educational trainings about NHSN to professional organizations and governmental bodies at national, state and local levels.
- Assist in the development of new surveillance system components, providing subject matter expertise related to HAI surveillance.
- Participate, as requested, in special studies or projects.
- Provide level 2 help desk support to address NHSN protocol inquiries.
- Identify and create necessary NHSN module/manual updates resulting from technological advancements, infection/disease trends, changing or broadening IP/nursing responsibilities or yearly updates of system components.
- Develop and maintain NHSN training materials to be hosted on the NHSN website.
- Coordinate on an ongoing and daily basis with contracted personnel from other vendors performing similar work in support of NHSN.
- Communicate directly with Surveillance Branch leadership.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications
- Desired - 5 years overall Infection Prevention experience
- Certification in Infection Control candidates are given priority
- Degree in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, medical technology, public health or other healthcare science
- Have primary professional training in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology, or another related field
- Is qualified by education, training, experience, or certification.
- Has completed specialized training in infection prevention
- Master level degree in a health sciences related program
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
- Experience with NHSN guidance and definitions desired

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$62,200-$130,600
