Responsibilities

• Implement and provide implementation support for new product introductions and existing product changes that impact Manufacturing, using the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process and other tools/processes.

• Provide manufacturing floor operations support to include:

• Improving and maintaining manufacturing process instructions

• Supporting or leading lean efforts to improve cell layout, replenishment, 5S, standard work, visual management, and quality at the source.

• Improving and maintaining Kanban’s and other replenishment processes to ensure components are always available and properly accounted for.

• Manage labor standards/rates as tools to drive efficiency improvement and ensure accurate financial absorption.

• Maintain manufacturing bills of materials (BOMs) so that replenishment processes correctly account for parts usage in Manufacturing.

• Design and implement fixtures and processes to support manufacturing operations.

• Lead or support manufacturing refurb process improvements.

• Lead or support manufactured product quality continuous improvement efforts.

• Perform other duties assigned to meet business needs.

• Strong understanding of computer assembly and software for both new and refurbished computers will be a plus.

Experience and Educational requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 yrs related work experience

• 5-10 yrs related work experience in lieu of degree

• Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

• ​Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across a variety of departments.

• Multi-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

• Appreciation and awareness for Manufacturing demand and prioritization

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook

As a Staff Mechanical Engineer in our Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team, you will utilize your extensive knowledge and experience in Mechanical Engineering to solve both novel and complex assignments that require the development of new or improved products, techniques and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide technical leadership on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Applies engineering principles and techniques to develop engineering solutions using a variety of engineering tools.

• Performs CAD modeling of electromechanical parts, assemblies, and entire systems to support the release of new designs and creates improvements to existing designs.

• Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tasks, builds a resource plan for completion of these tasks, and tracks progress.

• Derive Verification and Validation plans for qualification of Pharmacy Automation solutions.

• Lead and mentor junior engineers and associates on technical and programmatic related challenges.

• Plan, lead and drive technical team efforts to develop design changes to existing In-Market hardware for all Pharmacy Automation products.

• Spearhead failure investigations with a cross-functional team for returned hardware, in field failures and CAPA.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree and experience.

• At least 20 years related experience, or the equivalent combination of graduate-level education and experience required.

• Technical leadership experience in a highly focused cross-functional team environment on a large development project is preferred.

• Experience with mechanical CAD tools, SolidWorks, FEA, material selection, product life cycle tools, planning tools, tolerance analysis, GD&T and statistical analysis.

• Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication, plastic injection molded part design tooling and qualification, machined part design, 3D printed part design, mechatronic system design and configuration, air-flow concepts, and heat management.

• DFSS and Labview experience would be plus

• Experience in medical device industry would be plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Microsoft office products, PLM, PDM, ERP, Vizio, Adobe, DocuSign, MiniTab, Solidworks.

• Demonstrate ability to successfully influence people and teams at all levels without direct authority.

• Ability to apply sophisticated mathematical concepts to such tasks as statics, kinetics, strength of materials reliability testing, analysis of variance, correlation studies and sampling theory, statistical analysis.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues and determine root cause.

• Ability to generate presentations and technical articles for limited publication.

• Ability to present technical information and to effectively present proposals.

Essential activities of this position

• Run exploratory tests and writes new test plans.
• Document features through test plans, manages test cases as a library.
• Provide new feature feedback to developers and product owners.
• Contribute to regression test definition and execution. 
• Advocate for end users.
• Perform verification and validation of large pools of data.
• Decode implied requirements.
• Strong Communication and Collaboration skills, written and verbal. 
• Ability to ensure testing traceability and create test reports.

Qualifications of this position

• 2-8 years of experience in software testing or relevant work experience.
• Tools include:  Postman, Azure DevOps, BDD

• Ability to think in the abstract and see how small details fit into the bigger picture.
