Responsibilities of the Post-Holder

In accordance with the job description for Classroom Teacher, the key responsibilities will be as follows:

Pastoral

At Plume Academy all teaching staff are expected to fulfil both an academic teaching role and a pastoral role by acting as a Tutor to a group of assigned students. New Rickstones Academy is graded 'Good' (November 2023) and has a state of the art building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. The appointed Mathematics Teacher will begin their BA career at the academy site best suited to their skill set. We are able to offer opportunities to teach a wide range of abilities in KS3, KS4 (GCSE Maths / GCSE Statistics) and KS5 (Functional Skills / ALevel Maths/ ALevel Further Maths)

With an ethos of developing internal talent, there are opportunities to take on additional responsibility, driving change as we implement NCETM's Maths Mastery approach to teaching. An exciting opportunity has arisen at Clacton County High School for a qualified teacher of Science to join an excellent team of colleagues within the Science faculty.

Our school has its own sixth form college, Sigma Sixth, with a campus in Tendring located within a short drive away drive from the school.Although, based at a different site it is very much part of the mainstream school and, for the right candidate, there is the possibility of teaching up to key stage 5 if appropriate.
