As the R&D Buyer IOD supporting the Research and Development Team, you will be responsible for leading and driving the buying activities for R&D projects across multiple categories (e.g. Labs Services, Chemicals, Equipment, Packaging, etc.) within the eye care industry. This position will work closely with key business partners to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans with a focus on reducing total cost of ownership while optimizing supplier performance in Fort Worth, Texas!
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize procurement activities to ensure materials availability while minimizing inventory costs.
- Supervise and lead delivery of raw materials and services to meet R&D project goals and objectives.
- Actively works to support the development of new technologies and supplier capabilities.
- Lead new supplier introduction by populating address, bank details, contact info, tax info, goods or services offered, risk assessment into SAP Ariba.
- Develop, monitor, and report supplier performance with KPI's including benchmarking with other companies/industries.
- Drive root cause investigation of supplier issues through the use of corrective and preventative action (CAPA).
- Provide support for invoice queries.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to acquire the best value for Alcon.
- Be proficient at oral / written communication in order to optimally explain sophisticated ideas and approaches to a wide audience.
- May participate as an active member of project core teams to develop and deliver upon project schedules.
- Maintains accurate inventory management, material tracking.
- Knowledge of ISO, FDA, MDD and regulations applicable to the design and development of Interocular devices.
- Experience working with large data sets and being able to interpret the data to make recommendations and/or decisions from the data.
- Experience working in Microsoft Excel, SAP, SAP Business Intelligence, Tableau.
Key Requirements/Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs).
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- 2 years of Proven Experience.
