To manage and coordinate legal disrepair cases and arbitration processes, ensuring all disrepair claims are dealt with efficiently, with minimal legal and financial exposure for the Council. The role will ensure value for money is achieved in settling disrepair cases, coordinating with the repairs partnering and legal teams, as well as with residents.
The Litigation Coordinator will handle a portfolio of cases, working closely with contractors and legal teams to ensure that disrepair cases are resolved promptly, while maintaining a high standard of service for tenants and leaseholders, and accurate record of the repairs history for individual repairs cases.
The role will ensure accurate monitoring of repair cases, including repairs history, expenditure and financial forecasting on legal disrepair cases, and enable informed decision making to effectively manage the overall disrepair programme, including prioritization of disrepair cases.

The FOMMA plays a vital role in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our maintenance programme delivery, assuring compliance and safety in our operations. In this role you will:

• Work across FCRM Operations teams to manage and co-ordinate successful completion of our maintenance programme.
• Have oversight of the specialist skills and training needs across the field teams, required to safely deliver the maintenance programme, operate our assets and for incident response.
• Support the Field Team Leaders by providing leadership of change and improvements within field teams (e.g. HSW initiatives, ways of working) and by carrying out assurance of the changes.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure our risk management & safety standards for operations maintenance and incident response are being maintained and improved.
• Assure compliance with statutory obligations, such as Reservoirs Act and CDM Regulations

As a Category 1 responder, you will support our response to incidents by having an incident role (either ‘incident activated’ or part of our regular standby roster for incident or emergency 24/7 response over a 7-day period – for which you’d receive additional pay).

You will be based either at Amwell End (Herts) or Hanwell Depot (West London), depending on where you live. The role will cover the Herts North London Area and your work will be split across the office/depot (including our office in Welwyn Garden City), and on site.
The team
You will be part of the field team, reporting into one of our Field Team Leaders, but you will be expected to work across all six field teams in HNL Area.

As our ‘frontline’ they provide operational response during flood events by operating our critical river and coastal assets 24/7. They also carry out an annual programme of maintenance, grass cutting, removal of obstructions from rivers and minor asset repairs.
Experience/skills required
Your energy and enthusiasm, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships are critical to the success of this role.

Essential Skills:

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Aptitude for coaching and mentoring colleagues
• Managing HSWE on construction/maintenance sites
• Delivering projects/programmes in field-based/site-based teams
• Organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Delivering results against performance targets
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
• Knowledge of/willingness to learn our in-house systems

Qualifications and Licences:
