The incumbent will be an entry-level analyst and work with an audit team in a developmental capacity to conduct reviews of the efficiency and effectiveness of Department of Transportation programs. The incumbent makes key contributions to a variety of possible products, including audit reports, briefings to DOT leadership or congressional stakeholders, and management advisories. The incumbent conducts all assigned phases of the audit in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).

The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with:

preparing a comprehensive plan to guide the work, including the methodology for examining and testing (such as using statistical and/or judgmental sampling) of records and internal controls to determine the degree of efficiency and effectiveness of programs;

researching pertinent laws, legislative history, regulations, contracts, and internal controls to ascertain the purpose, scope, and objectives of the assigned program or function; the manner in which the program or function is conducted; and the nature and extent of management authority and responsibility for the program or function;

conducting site visits at field locations to gather evidence, based on the approved work plan;

conducting interviews with program officials at Headquarters and/or in the field;

writing sections of the debriefs to senior OIG management and drafting written products summarizing the results of the review, including potential findings and recommendations for program improvements;

The work of this position primarily involves program audits. The incumbent, a professional auditor trainee, works with a team leader in a developmental capacity, to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of organizations, programs, and activities applicable to the Department of Transportation programs.  

The audits may cover the relevance or appropriateness of program objectives; the extent to which a program achieves a desired level of results; factors inhibiting satisfactory performance; alternatives for carrying out the program; the adequacy of management controls; and the validity and reliability of reported program effectiveness.

The incumbent of this position applies professional accounting and auditing knowledge, standards, and principles in performing an objective and systemic examination of pertinent information and documentation such as records, management reports, management controls, and policies and practices affecting the outcomes and results of the transportation programs.

The incumbent research conducted, laws, legislative history, regulations, contracts, and management controls to ascertain the purpose, scope, and objectives of the assigned program or function; the manner in which the program or function is conducted; and the nature and extent of management authority and responsibility for the program or function.

As a member of an audit team, the incumbent assists in all phases of audit work - planning the audit, conducting the audit, and preparing the final product.

Job Purpose: To develop the knowledge, clinical skills and attitude to provide high quality care and services based on the needs of the practice population. Supported by senior nurses within the practice, you will deliver care within the boundaries of your role, focusing upon supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring of long-term conditions, health promotion and screening activities. You will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities that will be developed during the course of the Scheme: Clinical 1. Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that encourage patients to live healthily, and apply principles of self-care. 2. Deliver opportunistic health promotion using opportunities such as new patient medicals and NHS health checks. 3. Implement and participate in national vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children. Provide travel advice and vaccinate appropriately. 4. Assess, plan and support patients to self-manage long term conditions, running specific clinic sessions and maintaining robust recall systems. 5. Assess and care for patients presenting with uncomplicated wounds, including removal of sutures and clips. 6. Support and manage health needs of women presenting for cervical cytology consultationsand perform cervical cytology screening. 7. Support and advise patients requesting information relating to reproductive and sexual health. 8.
