ST Consult, based in attractive rural offices at Hannington in Hampshire, is part of Southern Testing, an established company providing environmental and geotechnical consultancy and site investigation services to the private and public sectors. The company operates its own drilling rigs, including rotary, windowless sampling, CFA, etc. The company is management owned with a strong commitment to staff.

The role of Site Technician / Trainee site technician involves mostly outdoor work and the successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out basic geotechnical and/or geoenvironmental site investigations and site tests and provide general assistance as instructed by our engineers. A full clean driving licence including categories B and E, are essential. Previous experience is desirable but not essential. You should be physically fit, enjoy the outdoors, be willing to take on a variety of activities and have formal qualifications in maths and English to at least GCSE or equivalent level.

The position is full time, Monday to Friday, working a minimum of 7.5 hours a day but part time employment could be considered for the right candidate.

Job Purpose

• Cover client expectations within priority time frames
• Day to day and OOH duties met and covered for all workload eventualities

Role Summary

• Working alone safely and responsibly, responding to blockages and carrying out maintenance tasks with a high-pressure Van Pack vehicle.
• Customer and client liaison and able to build a good rapport.
• Be able to work collectively as a team.
• Incident reporting and escalation with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Look See Push rod CCTV surveys and reporting.
• Confined Space entry and safe working practices.
• Responsible for a proactive approach to SHEQ/H&S/POWRA Risk assessments and carrying out works in a safe and productive manner.
• Driving of company vehicles/ valid driving license for role applied for.
• Carry out any other duties appropriate for this post
