Major Duties:

• Operates gas or diesel powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler-type traction, such as road graders, tractors with bulldozer or angle dozer blades, front-end loaders, backhoes, wheel loaders, trench diggers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments.
• Operates equipment to push, pull, pile, excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth and/or refuse.
• Uses equipment to perform such functions as cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling earth, sand, stone, and other materials to maintain ditches, road shoulders, and beds.
• These positions will support projects that will help maintain and rehabilitate Grand Canyon National Parks trails systems and viewpoints on the South Rim and North Rim of Grand Canyon.

• Responsible for development, implementation, analysis, and revision of the master production schedule for aircraft maintenance production plan throughputs.
• Implements and controls the master production schedule, to include evaluating lead-time changes, assessing unanticipated materiel/production problems and their impact on existing schedules, controlling priorities and meeting critical milestones.
• Performs studies and projects on issues of productivity, quality, capability, functions and work processes, and the use of manpower to determine whether substantial modification is required to improve the efficiency of the entire production plan.
• Assists the overall scheduling effort through the monitoring of the information contained in applicable maintenance/production/supply data systems.

This position is located at Kayenta Health Center, Division of Administrative Services, Facility Management Branch, Kayenta, AZ. The incumbent:

• Operates and repairs auxiliary equipment including vacuum pumps, fuel oil pumps, gas regulators, air compressors, feed water pumps and regulators, forced draft fans and safety controls. Performs major repairs on each equipment such as installing, connecting and adjusting components including rotors, electrodes, solenoids, switches, thermostats and rheostats.
• Performs hydrostatic tests on chilled and heating hot water closed loop systems and places chillers and boilers in service. Recording all information, compared to samples taken and tested by outside consultants.
• Operates, maintains and repairs chillers and boilers that supplies cool and heated air to air handling units for air conditioning.
• Ventilation/Air Handler: Inspect, cleans, adjust and repair hospital and field clinic ventilation system which is interrelated with air conditioning that carries the status amount of air volume to each part of the hospital through different size ducts that are instilled in attic areas; modifies, fabricates, repair actuators controls.
• Operates and maintains 600 KW Emergency Generator; tests generator no load condition once a week, with load once a month; read, record data include line - load amperes; operates voltage and frequency to comply with TJC requirements.
• Uses system to: diagnose and correct HVAC problems and failures, command set points and valve actuators, and to acknowledge, clear and reset alarms.

• Receives, examines, verifies, and identifies complex categories of materials and equipment.
• Maintains an aggressive surveillance inspection program on stored/on-hand items.
• Receives, examines, and determines condition of a wide variety of complex items and materials to be turned in/removed.
• Monitors special programs, computerized listings, and documentation/records.
• Operates electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lift trucks capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches. Uses and maintains tools. Utilizes safety and security practices and procedures following established rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.

• You will review request for construction, maintenance, repair, renovation, replacement and other services from initial customer request to completion of work and final billing.
• You will work with clients to clarify scope of work, financial obligations and desired completion date.
• You will collect and monitor information from a variety of sources and compile data to evaluate goals, detect errors, determine status of work, and evaluate trends to achieve best utilization of resources.
• You will track and monitor the status and completion of work through computerized management and maintenance system (Maximo).
• You will coordinate most of the timing and integrated production efforts of the many shops and departments responsible for work on various segments of maintenance and repair jobs.

MAJOR DUTIES: Receives, loads and unloads vending items for delivery to micro market locations. Drives vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of up to 26,000 pounds over public roads at highway speeds under all traffic conditions to transport merchandise. Removes aged food or other merchandise from locations, replenishes merchandise and makes appropriate notations on required documents. Monitors brands and sale prices to ensure adequate stocking levels and compliance with approved selling prices. Cleans interior and exterior of machines to ensure compliance with sanitation regulations. May be required to make limited emergency repairs to vehicle and change tires. Complies with fire, safety and security rules, regulations or orders. Loads and unloads vehicles. Verifies products are loaded and delivered against various documents for accountability.

Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Duties include but not limited to:
Operate telephone switchboard to provide telephone communications for the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) including all off site community based outpatient clinic locations. The work requires:

• Knowledge and practice of telephone courtesy techniques;
• Skill in questioning callers, who often can provide only sketchy information, in order to direct them to the proper organizational component;
• Knowledge and practice of telephone procedures to operate telephone switchboard consoles, answer recurring kinds of telephone calls, use printed or computerized directories, and connect local calls and regular or special long-distance calls to their proper destinations;
• Knowledge and practice of proper login and testing at the beginning of the duty tour to ensure continuity of telephone service;
• Knowledge and practice of the organization served to connect incoming calls to the appropriate office or individual;
• Skill in dealing politely with people who are emotional or discourteous and at times irate;
• Skill in using standard procedures to place outgoing calls through various circuits and networks;
• Skill in placing and receiving conference and collect calls;
• Provides telephone directory assistance for internal and external callers requires thorough knowledge of the large, frequently changing SAVAHCS organization;

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Performs duties relative to the care, maintenance, protection and preservation of grounds, ornamental beds, trees, shrubs, and grass in an assigned area.
• Prepares the soil in areas where flowers and seeds are to be planted.
• Determines the proper amount of plants, seeds, fertilizer, lime or other materials required for an area.
• Selects and applies the correct fungicide, insecticide, or herbicide to control plant insects, diseases and/or weeds.
• Plants and transplants shrubbery and trees and thins flowers to promote proper growth and enhance appearance. Applies mulch and/or decorative stone to ornamental beds and weeds, as required.
• Reseeds areas as necessary to promote fullest growth: Salvages, labels, and stores bulbs and seed for the following year.
• Prunes and trims shrubbery and trees which require shaping, thinning and removal of dead/diseased/unsightly branches.
• Operates mechanical powered equipment such as riding and push mowers, edgers, trimmers, chain saw, blowers, cultivator, snow plow, and various hand tools.
• May be required to operate a small forklift to retrieve and/or store supplies used for gardening or grounds maintenance.
• Operates pick-up truck with trailer to transport personnel, equipment, supplies and other materials to and from worksite within the installation.
