Manufacturing Design Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a manufacturing and design engineer whose main focus is to design and engineer piping systems, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment and engineered packages for in-house manufacture within the oil & gas, petrochemical and marine industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Project planning, cost control and daily management of allocated in house manufacturing projects.
• Detailed design including design calculations, refrigeration system design and fabrication design and specification of components.
• Creation, checking and approval of documentation, drawings, data sheets, work packs and user manuals etc.
• Selection of equipment and checking compliance with relevant specifications and requirements.
• Compiling Material Take Off spreadsheets for procurement of materials and components.
• Liaising with clients both during and post project.
• Providing engineering support for the Operations Manager - Manufacturing.
• Responsible for ensuring products are designed and manufactured in compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, directives, regulations and company processes.
• Participate in company competence and performance management procedures

Requirement and experience

• HNC/HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or other HVAC relevant engineering discipline
• Comprehensive knowledge of Mechanical and/or HVAC engineering environment
• Demonstrable previous experience of mechanical or electrical engineering design
• Demonstrable previous experience in manufacturing capacity
• Demonstrable experience in design, drawings and calculations
• Experience in oil, gas and renewables industry
• Computer literate in all Microsoft packages

The position is a Monday to Thursday 8-5 with Friday 8-2 with a salary of £45,000 p/a

Your opportunity:
Oversee the production and creation of all external communications, such as the website, school newsletter, social media platforms, school prospectuses, and advertisements, the purpose of which is to market the school, and to provide key information for internal and external stakeholders.
Deliver practical design support for LMT, teaching and associate staff for key publications such as brochures, programmes, leaflets, booklets, and signage etc.
Provide technical support including the making of photo montages and videos for key events and ensure that the archive of photographs of teaching and learning and key events is constantly updated and then used to enhance the school’s displays and working environment.
Provide reprographics support to ensure the efficient and timely production of large-scale photocopying.
The working hours for this role are 30 hours per week, although we welcome discussions around a flexible working pattern, depending on individual circumstances. The role is school-based, working term time only.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to the Project team, Installation on problem verification, report and coordinate with Group on job site issues and technical solutions related to electrical design.
• Involving in design interfacing and parts provision among Group of companies.
• Participate in the resolution of design problems related to Error/Trouble investigation, and formulate corrective & preventive measures.

Requirement

• Carry out product analysis and work under the guidance of more senior Engineers to meet customers' and/or the industry's needs.

Job responsibilities

• Based on the technical specifications of the products provided by the customers or by the internal teams, carry out the CAD drawings of all the products families (smartcards, antennas, IC substrates, medical, IOT):

1. With 1 or 2 copper layers or with multi-layers of copper
2. Under Autocad and Gerber environment

• According to the internal best practices for compatibility with internal process and cost optimization
• Carry out the drawing of the toolings for the local manufacturing of the new prototypes or for the local manufacturing of the first production lots of the new products
• Prepare the drawings for the punching tool and the artworks
• Interface with the toolings suppliers
• Inform the internal teams about the launching of the toolings (especially incoming inspection)
• Follow-up of the suppliers leadtime for the delivery of the toolings
• Update Technical information in Linxens data base
• Cross check design of other drafters
• Suggest adjustments designs taking into account the customer's specifications and internal rules of manufacturing
• Liaise with counterparts of Drafter team on other plant for cross sharing information and back up activity
• Understand plating software simulation tool to better design smartcard products / Understand RF software simulation tool to better design antennas

Job requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of at least one CAD tool (Autocad mandatory, Gerber, Altium)
• Good knowledge in mechanical
