About The Role

We are looking for a passionate Production Technician to join our team in Jurong Island, Singapore. This role will focus on supporting the day team operations of the antioxidants manufacturing plant and ensure compliance to all production, EHS and quality standards in accordance with local and company’s regulations and SOPs. You will be responsible to support Day Shift Leader/Production Manager on special tasks and improvement projects.

How You Will Do It

Good knowledge of Blending, Compacting, tank farm, packaging, and utility section to fulfill the responsibilities as follows:

• Operate Tank Farm, Compactor/ Blending and Packing Lines in accordance with the laid down procedures and as instructed by Day Shift Production Manager or his assigned Deputy
• Supervise other leasing staff in ensuring packaging and tank farm operations are executed in a safe and correct manner and in line with quality expectations
• Ensure correct day shift hand over of ongoing activities, liaise and communicate with the rotating shift teams and logistics team as needed to facilitate smooth execution of tank farm operations and packaging operations
• Maintain high level housekeeping of the units and surrounding areas, keeping tank farm and the packaging line areas safe and clean as well as assisting with site waste management concept for disposal
• Ensure temporary equipment charges, process documentation and software changes etc. are properly recorded.
• In case of emergency, to perform the activities of a firefighting brigade member after shutting down the plant safely as per the emergency shutdown procedure.
• Troubleshoot where required, initiates corrective measures in concurrence with day supervisor and maintain proper documentation trail with temporary equipment change
• Report all accident, injury, near miss, unsafe conditions and behaviour promptly to immediate supervisor so that remedial action can be taken to eliminate risks.
• Ensure to adhere to safety protocols. This includes keeping up to date with EHS risk assessments and using PPE as stipulated for the job.

What We Look For

• O-levels/A-levels, NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an automated chemical process plant or packaging line in a similar role.
• Familiarity with both Panel (DCS) and field operations for blending, tank farm and packaging
• Well-versed in Microsoft Office programs and use of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and SAP PM module for creating documents such as delivery notes, scanning of raw material and finished products.
• Able to work in Jurong Island.
• Able to work on shift if required.

Objectives of the Position

• Experienced Global Business Expert for the processes Manufacturing, Site Logistics and P2P for supply chain (including Tolling Execution). Part of the Global Supply Chain Process Excellence team with members located in Europe, Asia, North America and South America.

Main Tasks:

• Implement new organizational and / or technical concepts for processes MFG (Manufacturing), SL (Site Logistics), P2P (Purchase-to-pay) in strong alignment with relevant stakeholders including global process owners. Facilitate and contribute to change and test management activities.
• Drive innovation and automation activities, e.g., based on RPA (Robotics Process Automation) technology. Continuously assess improvement potentials and implement new solutions when available.
• Track and address adherence to business rules and processes including monitoring via KPIs, process mapping tools, and reports.
• Lead regional, sub-regional and local key-user communities to enforce continuous communication and best practice exchange.
• Lead projects or projects workstreams with cross-organizational or cross-functional aspects, e.g. S/4HANA implementation or supply chain integration of acquired businesses.
• Execute key-user and end-user support including Issue-solving in day-to-day business, training, monitoring tasks and data maintenance.

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business administration, IT, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in Logistics or Supply Chain, with a strong focus on order-to-cash and transportation management processes and tools.
• Experience in Agricultural business is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Process knowledge: Deep knowledge of supply chain, operations, and logistics processes. Experience with analysis and monitoring tools, e.g. SAP transactions, BW applications, data lake queries.
• Organizational knowledge: Awareness about organizational structures in BASF, interaction between divisions and corporate / service functions.
• IT knowledge: Detailed knowledge of Microsoft standard applications, SAP ERP, and related tools for MFG, SL and P2P purposes.
• Process design / modeling: Capability to use process modeling tools (e.g. Signavio) for process mapping and design.
• Project management: Experience in contributing to projects or leading workstreams of projects. Ability to manage own workload, set priorities and regular reporting of progress to stakeholders. Change management skills.
• Customer-Centricity: A strong commitment to enhancing the customer and business partner experience throughout the process areas of manufacturing, site logistics and P2P.
• Innovation mindset: Innovative mindset and affinity to new digital developments

Objectives:

• Operating the Antioxidant (AO) manufacturing plant and ensure compliance to all production, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and quality standards
• Basic experience in Panel Distributed Control System (DCS) and field operations for all the production lines to progressively attain full familiarity with both panel DCS and field production operations

Responsibilities:

• Operates the production units in accordance with local and company’s EHS rules and regulations, Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) and as instructed by the Production Engineer
• Good knowledge of process flow of all production units including tank-farm, utility to fulfils the tasks as follows:

1. Familiarity with Emergency procedures for the safe operation and shutdown of units through DCS.
2. Perform field operator routines such as raw material and catalyst filling, SAMACO rounds, preparation of equipment for Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), 5S rounds, filter change outs etc.
3. Ensure the correct usage and maintenance of PPEs for all the associated field tasks.
4. Learn and Operate Delta V to control process units under close supervision of Senior/Lead Technician.
5. Understand the EHS risk associated with their tasks by reading the respective EHS risk assessment.
6. Coordinate and work with the team members and contractors to complete plant tasks in a safe and timely manner.
7. In case of emergency, performs the activities of a firefighting brigade member after shutting down the plant safely as per the emergency shutdown procedure.
8. Perform in-process sampling and testing.
9. Perform simple maintenance jobs, opening and boxing up of equipment, handles tools in accordance with safety requirement.
10. Troubleshoot where required; initiate corrective measures in accordance with his supervisors and maintains proper documentation trail; update process log-book and hand over documents.
11. Participate in plant safety activities and housekeeping and safety programs
12. Report all accident, injury, near miss, unsafe conditions and behavior to immediate Supervisor so that remedial actions can be taken to eliminate risk. Ensure full compliance to plant EHS programs such as Behavior Based Safety (BBS) / Hazard Elimination and Control Card (HEC)
    

Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related engineering qualification (e.g. Nitec)
• Minimum 3 years of working experience within Chemical Plant
• Able to work 24/7 shift schedule
• Basic understanding of chemical processes
• Able to use Microsoft Office. Experience in SAP PM module will be an added advantage.
