Citigroup is seeking an experienced Product Controller to provide direction and leadership to the Mexico Rates and Currencies Product Control team.
The Product Control Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records in coordination with the Finance team. The overall objective of this role is to drive efforts to control and support data integrity and general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution and new activity analysis, valuation control and product P&L and balance sheet reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead and direct a team of professionals
- Provide oversight of the Mexico Rates and Currencies P&L, ensuring accurate reporting of P&L by legal entity, geography and business
- Ensure the reconciliation of P&L and BS to the general ledger and management reports
- Ensure all daily controls are completed on-time and in line with global procedures
- Coordinate with Technology to drive improvements to the infrastructure, ensuring alignment with global standards
- Apply an in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions
- Ensure delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses and/or geographic regions
- Resolve complex and varied issues, taking of an action and weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting needs
- Escalate anomalies and issues in a timely manner
- Provide individual performance evaluation, career planning/development and input to compensation
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in a related role
- Experience in financial control, valuation or related discipline
- Financial products and valuation related knowledge
- Evidence of robust control focus
- Management experience
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
