The House Project Greater Manchester have an exciting opportunity to join the team in Manchester and Trafford. The team in Manchester have been established for 5 years and have joined with Trafford and the GM collaboration for the last 2 years. The facilitator post is a secondment for 1 year, with the option of renewal following evaluation. Manchester House Project is directly funded by MCC out of existing budgets.
The House Project is an innovative way of supporting care leavers to take control of their pathway to independence and to have greater involvement and choice in creating a forever home. The name House Project could be misleading as the activity includes peer to peer support, tenancy readiness and independence skills which will enable the young person to develop their ability to access their forever home pre 18 years. The projects can support a young person from the age of 16 years and will continue for as long as the young person wishes to be included. This will include the transition into their forever home.

We’re looking for a confident, capable, collaborative and enthusiastic person, who is passionate about young people’s wellbeing.
- The successful candidate will be able to deliver Group sessions – to creatively plan, deliver and record weekly group sessions with the current cohort consisting of 14 looked after Young People in line with the house project programme.
- They will also keep in touch with the previous cohort of on the house project who are looked after or have now left care.
- They will carry out emotional & practical outreach support to these Young People in their homes where necessary and attend & contribute to PPM and LAC reviews.
- They will provide emotional and practical support to young people during their transition from supported placement environments to independent living and support and promote EET pathways.
