Service Care Solutions is assisting the LTE Group in recruiting a passionate and motivated Bus & Coach Engineering Tutor to deliver the BACEM qualification (Bus and Coach Engineering Level 3 Apprenticeships) at their site in Perivale, West London.
Role Overview:
As a Bus & Coach Engineering Tutor, you will play a crucial role in developing apprentice's knowledge, skills, and behaviours to meet industry standards. You will conduct both classroom and workshop sessions, coaching and mentoring apprentices, and ensuring they are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment (EPA).
Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality teaching and mentoring sessions in both classroom and workshop environments.
• Manage a caseload of learners, providing regular interventions and ensuring timely evidence capture for learning and Ofsted requirements.
• Collaborate with employers and learning coaches to embed skills and knowledge in the workplace.
• Engage learner's line managers to ensure support and guidance throughout the apprenticeship journey.
• Prepare learners for their End Point Assessment through comprehensive planning and practice.
• Integrate Maths, English, and ICT (where applicable) into your teaching to support learner progression.
• Provide accurate and constructive feedback to learners, contributing to their development and success.
• Work closely with IQAs to ensure best practices and continuous improvement in teaching quality.
• Maintain positive relationships with employers, generating new leads and ensuring learner progression.
• Contribute to the creation of high-quality learning materials.

Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:

• Relevant occupational sector experience and qualifications (Level 3 or higher).
• Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and ICT (or willingness to undertake).
• Proven ability to deliver effective, engaging coaching and teaching in both classroom and workshop settings.
• Strong planning skills with a track record of meeting KPIs and strategic objectives.
• Customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.

Desirable:

• Coaching qualification.
• Teaching qualification (Cert Ed/CTTLS/DTTLS).
• Knowledge of Government-funded training.
• Assessor qualifications (TAQA, AVA, A1, or D32/33).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensuring site safety is managed to Company and legal standards across all projects and through visible management commitment supporting the safety culture within the company
* Working closely with the Contracts / Operations Manager to plan, manage and deliver project tasks and outcomes in accordance with scope and contract, including authoring of Risk Assessment Method Statements.
* Project life cycle cost control; from pre-start budget, construction phase cost reporting and forecasting.
* Establish the initial budget (Bo) for the project
* Implement cost control and monitor physical progress
* Support the commercial team during the monthly cost and revenue exercise including preparation of forecast costs
* Monitor payment of invoices
* Reviewing and validating plans and drawings and interface with design engineers and draftsmen to ensure accuracy and buildability
* Application of technical and engineering expertise to the project
* Engagement and management of sub-contractors, ensuring safe systems of works are in place and complied with, inductions completed, and work standards / schedules are being adhered to.
* Ensure client's needs are clearly and correctly understood and communicated between all relevant parties
* First level identification of issues or contractual changes to the SOW that require remediation and/or escalation
* Management of Site Supervisors & Site Engineers
* Assisting with preparation of all project QSE documents
Maintain accurate as-built records & production schedules, accurately monitor physical progress against pre-defined measures, programme and cost plan
* Writing and executing Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's), quality assurance and coordinating sub-contractors on a day to day basis
* Assisting with project close outs and project reporting as required
* Carrying out weekly site safety inspections

Knowledge & Experience:

A degree in civil: engineering or equivalent in a relevant construction discipline
* Professional Health and Safety Qualification (CSCS Black card & SMSTS Minimum)
* Experience of operational management of projects gained from a TIER 2 specialist contracting environment
* Experienced with Project Planning software

Reporting to the Capex Lead, this key and exciting role of Project Manager - Initiation will be accountable for the consistent and robust development of pre-idea and evaluate stage projects through the project management stage gates ready for detailed design. You will have experience across engineering and finance having a keen eye for detail and an ability to understand the technical and commercial views of project success. Working as part of a Global Business Engineering Team, the PM will manage the stakeholders from the operational sites, central business teams and subject matter experts to integrate project definition in the early stages. Knowledge and experience of Front End Loading projects to achieve portfolio success is the main aim of this role, so bringing your wealth of experience from Project Execution is key.

The role is a core function of PGMS Engineering team and as such will be responsible for taking projects though the stage gate process and support building capability in the site teams authoring, financial evaluation, and strategy alignment. The role with collaborate deeply with the site teams, Group and BU Engineering teams, and other key functions across the business such as business development & EHS ensuring a holistic and joined up approach to investment decisions across the portfolio.

Responsibilities -

• Put in place and manage systems and processes to efficiently feed the CAPEX programme with projects that are robustly prepared and ready for challenge at future assurance reviews.
• May Supervise a small team of Discipline Engineers that support the early phases of project deliverables and facilitate integrated design reviews.
• Align and support pre- idea/feasibility projects to ensure sufficient scope is explored and deliverables provide the insights and information PGMS Leadership Team requires to move with confidence into full project execution.
• Build and maintain insightful & impactful performance management reports and business case presentations to key stakeholders.
• Act as a conduit to ensure effective engagement between site-based engineering functions and Group Engineering-based technical authorities with specialist knowledge of technical solutions that should be considered in early project stages.
• Support growth in capabilities of site-based team members focused on capex programmes & sponsor key talent to support the growth of capability in the capex space.
• Coordinate projects in early stages to meet minimum requirements in terms of business case preparation, investment estimates, technical assumptions, resourcing plan and business alignment.
• Guides Technical Teams to prepare the alternatives and concepts to evaluate.
• Leads and completes early phases and hand-over to Later Project Manager for Detailed design and Construction.
• Continue supporting the later PM's and Supply Chain during the Project Lifecycle to ensure Business Goals are achieved. This may include acting as consultant and / or Project Manager to ensure the back end project delivers the requirements as requested in the early stages of the project.
• Build business case development principles and capabilities alongside New Process/Product Introduction teams, site capex leads, and project engineers.
• Work across functions such as Manufacturing Technology, R&D & EHS to seek and align input to early-stage concepts and ideas.
