SSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects across the region and keep stakeholders updated on progress and activities.
- Coordinate internal resources and third party/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Track progress, ensuring all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule regular meetings intermediary phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Develop project scopes, specifications, and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Manage and coordinate the tender process for projects. Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage and maintain good relationship with all stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Assist to acquire equipment and material and monitor stock level to handle inadequacies timely.
- Supervise the work of contractors and give them guidance/feedback when needed.
- Negotiate and work closely with suppliers who are Mandarin speakers.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
- Be able to be relocated for projects requirements as required by management at short notice. Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Degree in Project Management or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Hospitality, Real estate development and Construction industry.
Prior experience in hotel project and procurement is preferred. Familiarity with global logistics regulations and requirements would be ideal.
SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in Mandarin with suppliers from China
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Good leadership and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and take Initiative with strong time management skills.
- Good knowledge of construction procedures and material
- Working and practical experience in using Autocad, and SketchUp
- Able to travel on short notice.
