This is an National Guard dual status technician position that requires military membership, compatible military skill assignment and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Public Affairs Specialist responsible for all public, community and media relations (including international media) programs for the unit. MAJOR DUTIES:

1. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates a diverse and strategic Public Affairs (PA) program through media and audience analysis, determines PA program needs and organizational direction to achieve unit goals. Responds to media requests for information of both a routine and controversial nature. The Regional Director Security Operations (RDSO) is responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team that executes a global security operations program for a multi-national IT organization. A rewarding opportunity exists for a Civil Engineering Technician to be based in Brisbane. This full-time position will require you to work closely with site Project Manager assisting with the delivery of a variety of projects. Some travel will apply.
Skills & Requirements
• preparing sketches, charts, tabulations, plans and designs for civil engineering works such as drainage, water supply, sewerage reticulation systems, roads, airports, dams, bridges and other structures
• performing and directing fieldwork and laboratory testing
• interpreting work assignment instructions, applying appropriate procedures and selecting equipment
• collecting and analysing data, and carrying out computations
• estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
• inspecting civil engineering works, and organising and supervising maintenance and repair work
• conducting field and laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, and collecting data for traffic surveys

Reporting to the firm’s Partners you will be responsible for preparing Annual Financial Statements, Income Tax Returns and Business Activity Statements for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.

Ideally CA or CPA qualified, you will have a minimum of three to five years of public practice experience, have the ability and confidence to effectively demonstrate your skills and knowledge and possess a good work ethic and high attention to detail. Proficiency in Xero & MYOB accounting software will be highly regarded, as will experience using Microsoft Office.
