We are seeking a talented and driven Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping the future of our IT infrastructure.
Position Summary
As a Computer Network and Systems Engineer at Verdant Innovations, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our IT systems and network infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations, strong network security, and the seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies that align with business goals.
* Track network performance, resolve connectivity issues, and ensure continuous operation of critical production systems.
* Manage servers, workstations, and related hardware that support inventory management, order processing, and production tracking systems.
* Install, configure, and update operating systems, software, and applications necessary for business operations.
* Establish and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures to guarantee data integrity and availability.
* Develop cybersecurity protocols and implement firewall protections to secure sensitive production and customer data.
* Perform routine security assessments, vulnerability tests, and audits to ensure a compliant and secure environment.
* Partner with management to ensure compliance with industry standards, including relevant health and food safety IT regulations.
* Offer technical support for network and system issues faced by factory and office personnel.
* Record and manage incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
* Identify opportunities to automate production processes and inventory tracking systems, ensuring efficient data flow across departments.
* Work with other teams to integrate IT systems with production equipment and machinery where appropriate.
The applicant must have:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* Proven experience in network engineering, systems administration, or IT support.
* Proficiency in configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
* Knowledge of server and network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
