• Learn and improve our existing Go-based health care platforms. 

• Design and implement services and components utilizing Go for cloud-based platforms. 

• Developing high-volume, low-latency services for a global health care platform 

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and integrate with APIs that empower users to share and utilize their medical data in partner systems. 

• Design and implement unit testable code that is highly maintainable.

• Implement systemic changes to align existing systems with current architectural goals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, other relevant field or equivalent experience. 

• Familiarity with data design and database technologies such as SQL Server, Postgres or similar. 

• Software development experience with Go.  Strong knowledge of idiomatic Go and best practices. Good knowledge of concurrency in Go - goroutines, channel patterns, Go ecosystem, and tools and frameworks. 

• Experience contributing to a scalable architecture/design of existing and new systems that are highly available and easy to maintain and monitor. 

• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly complex asynchronous messaging and backend processing jobs. 

• Practical experience and understanding of working with and developing RESTful APIs and microservices. 

• Ability to work well with a team in a high-performance organization. 

• Comfortable working asynchronously with a distributed team 

• Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills 

• A willingness to learn new software development languages to meet goals and objectives. 

• Strong Computer Science fundamentals and experience with software development

The Senior Software Engineer will  work independently (or in a lead role) in one or more aspects of the overall software development process (such as software design, code development, testing and/or maintenance) of application software or embedded firmware under a disciplined product development process that meets FDA requirements. #software

What you’ll work on 

• Works independently on identifying new technologies for implementation into new product development and process improvements.  

• Exercises independent judgment in identifying, recommending and implementing significant and/or complex new tools/process improvements to meet company objectives in areas of new product development, product testing, process improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements. 

• May lead technical teams in the accomplishment of software design, testing and/or maintenance activities.

• Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires and evaluation of intangibles. 

• Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. 

• Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and performing other duties as assigned by management. 

• Lead one or more aspects of the overall software development process with responsibility for on time delivery of high-quality software products that meet budgetary objectives. 

• Implement approved Design Control procedures for software development in accordance with FDA guidelines. 

• Lead software development projects, providing mentoring and technical guidance. 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelors in Electrical or Computer Science or related engineering or scientific field.    8 years relevant experience and a Bachelors degree or 6 years with MS degree.  Will receive additional 2 years experience credit for PhD. 

• Minimum 5 years of experience (such as software design, coding and/or testing) in applications programming and/or software development of embedded systems for safety critical products.  As there are many aspects of software development (such as design, coding and/or testing), specific required experience depends on nature of responsibilities. 

• Minimum 5 years of experience in applications programming and/or software development of embedded systems for safety critical products. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience on embedded UI design and supporting data calculation reports is a strong plus. Excellent Knowledge and experience with the technologies of an embedded display device is a plus.  Excellent experience in design sharing between an embedded and app design is a plus 

• Some experience in software engineering management or technical leadership desirable. Good knowledge of software engineering principles. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. 

• Excellent troubleshooting skills are a must.  Strong debugging techniques and experience on using debugger is required and/or use of testing tools to ensure high level of quality of software product.  Strong working knowledge of the principles of quality software engineering as described by software lifecycle development processes. 

• Experience in Source Control Management is highly preferable. Experience on multitasking in RTOS and/or Windows OS software design and development is highly preferable. Experience on Internet technologies (web development, application servers) and database design is a strong plus. Experience on testing and development in embedded device is a strong plus. Knowledgeable on device driver and low level device interface design and development is a plus. Knowledgeable on microprocessor architecture is a strong plus.
