Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Cook to join our team at Inglewood Hotel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in line with our menu, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. You will be an essential part of our kitchen team, ensuring that all food is prepared safely and in compliance with health regulations while contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook dishes based on standardized recipes and menus. Maintain high-quality food standards and ensure consistent taste and presentation.
• Kitchen Operations: Keep a clean and organized kitchen, manage food inventory, and ensure the proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations. Monitor food temperatures and storage practices to ensure safety.
• Team Collaboration: Work with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations, assist in mentoring new team members, and communicate effectively with front-of-house staff.
• Customer Service: Address and resolve any food-related requests from guests, contributing to an enjoyable dining experience.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
• Certificate qualification or a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong team player.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Capable of lifting and carrying kitchen supplies and ingredients as required.
Working Environment:
• Based at the Inglewood Hotel, you will be part of a supportive and dynamic team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Salary: $73,150 AUD per annum
