As a Human Resources Assistant (Military), GS-0203-07, you will plan, organize, and administer the military personnel program for the organization. Serves as the technical expert on a variety of administrative matters (e.g. format for directives and standing operating procedures, general office procedures, filing systems, reference libraries, etc.). Provide authoritative advice and guidance to the commander and his staff pertaining to military personnel administration. Keeps abreast and ensures the implementation of new policy statements, regulations and directives issued by higher headquarters concerning personnel and administrative activities. Develop guidelines and operational procedures to implement changes to policies and programs directed by higher headquarters. Researches and resolves the most difficult military personnel problems and questions, including those where regulation is only partially relevant or is incomplete.

As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) (TITLE 32), GS-0203-5/7, you will serve as a final reviewer and/or processor of actions, which may include but are not limited to: accessions, discharges/separations, promotions, awards, reductions, transfers, boards, Non-Commissioned Officer Evaluation Reports (NCOERs), Office Evaluation Reports (OERs), promotion eligibility, Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP), discharges, waivers, award/withdraw, Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), retirement eligibility, iPERMS, RCAS, eMILPO, SIDPERS, DJMS, DMDC, CAC Automation,TAPDB-G, DSRO, and any additional or emerging systems that support personnel management and actions that affect eligibility of educational or incentive benefits as well as sensitive, complex cases, which involve: Allegations of inequitable, prejudiced, or similar treatment (e.g. issues of fraudulent enlistment or assignment; removal of military member from active or inactive status). Cases have major effects on career or service as they may result in unfavorable career separation or loss of status. Performs final review on file prior to review and action by a board, action officer, or others and ensures that all levels of legal, medical, and administrative review have been completed. Summarizes salient facts and issues; analyzes case information; outlines options; and recommends appropriate action. Ensures that regulatory requirements related to the specific action are met. Participates in SRP and command inspection program. Identifies gaps or inconsistencies in records and initiates action or interviews personnel to obtain needed data. Participates in unit Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) for those units whose service members are being mobilized to active duty. Performs personnel and administrative actions related to deployment manning documents. Supports reorganization/activation/deactivation. Reviews and processes requests for retention beyond mandatory removal date and evaluation reports.

1. Applies an extensive body of human resources (HR) rules, procedures, and operations sufficient to provide unit personnel support services.
2. Uses guidelines that have gaps in specificity and are not applicable to all work situations to manage, prepare, and maintain documentation concerning reservists' participation.
3. Assists in planning and monitoring manpower resource requirements and ensuring systems are synchronized.
4. Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the force support flight/squadron on military and civilian personnel issues.

• Creates and maintains a fitness report database.
• Provides advice on workflow including routine correspondence, as well as control and operation procedures to increase efficiency.
• Serves as the command expert on administration and policies and procedures.
• Makes an extensive review and analysis of all correspondence to include evaluations and fitness reports.

• Performs the full range of tasks for assigned areas such as assignment, enlistment, reenlistment, promotion, awards, performance evaluation, routine boards, separation, or similar actions and performs a substantive review of records to determine eligibility for actions
• Serves as a technical authority on all elements of active duty military personnel specialties and reviews reports, forms, documentation, and other related information concerning Air Force members and reviews/constructs/maintains military personnel records on all assigned areas
• Serves as the primary source of information regarding a wide variety of entitlement, allowance, and indebtedness actions and processes actions through military personnel data systems
• Reviews products to identify and correct mismatched data in system and to ensure projections and confirmations have consummated and required actions have been taken in the Personnel Data System
• Uses a variety of office automation hardware, software, and peripherals to perform miscellaneous administrative duties, special actions and other clerical support work pertaining to assigned area of military personnel
