We are currently looking for a UK Student Recruitment and Outreach Manager to join our UK Student Recruitment and Outreach team. The role holder will take a leading role in the development, implementation, management oversight and review of the University’s UK student recruitment and outreach activity, ensuring the University innovates in its student recruitment and outreach approaches to achieve the University’s drive for growth and diversification in student recruitment.

The Team

The UK Student Recruitment and Outreach team is based within the International Operations and Student Recruitment professional services directorate.

The UK Student Recruitment and Outreach team take a leading role in supporting the achievement of the university’s recruitment targets. The work of the team includes the delivery of an annual programme of events targeted at raising awareness of the university, liaison with key schools and colleges that act as feeder institutions to the University and the provision of support and guidance to students in order to promote their transition to University.

The Role:

The UK Student Recruitment and Outreach Manager is a senior role that will be responsible for leading a team of ~10 staff to implement the University's strategies for student recruitment and outreach in the UK. This includes developing innovative approaches to attract and diversify student enrolment. In addition, the manager will oversee the planning and management of recruitment activities for both undergraduate and postgraduate markets, including building relationships with schools and colleges and other external partners. Collaborating with the Head of Marketing, Head of Admissions, and other colleagues, the manager will ensure a coordinated approach and effective use of resources to achieve the University's goals.

Furthermore, the role-holder will manage the work of the UK Student Recruitment and Outreach team and contribute to the overall management of the International Operations and Student Recruitment unit. This involves leading and motivating staff to achieve the University's plans and objectives.

Who we are looking for:
• Direct experience of developing and implementing higher education student recruitment activity
• Understanding of internal and external policy drivers which influence student recruitment in Scotland.
• Experience of budget and people management
• Experience of successfully managing complex projects and implementing process improvements
• Experience of events management
• Capability to lead, motivate and facilitate the work of a large team
• A valid UK driving license

Salary: £44,263 - £56,021

The Role:

As the Senior Talent and Development Advisor you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our talent & development strategy of the University. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition and Development Manager and working alongside our Talent and Development Partners in a varied role, you will ensure the impact of all development activities is maximised through analysing data, marketing the development opportunities, and delivering development initiatives to our colleagues.

Working collaboratively, you will prepare & monitor the talent and development budget. This entails creating business cases for securing external funding and overseeing the management of purchase orders, invoices, and payment processing.

Facilitating events is a focal point of our talent development proposition. You will deliver induction sessions to new employees and colleague training in management development initiatives in support of ENU strategies and People Team development objectives. You will also have to opportunity to create and deliver engaging sessions suitable for colleagues at all levels including senior leadership both in person and online.

Additionally, you will actively work to increase awareness of and engagement with the talent and development offering through managing our online presence, internal communications, and development calendar.

This role would be well suited for someone looking for an opportunity to progress in their career in management and leadership development as they will have exposure to colleagues at all levels.

What we will need from you:

- Experience in a comparable role with evidence of ongoing professional development
- Experience of leadership and management development initiatives
- Experience of delivering and facilitating engaging sessions suitable for colleagues at all levels including senior leadership levels both in person and online
- A passion to seek out, drive and implement continuous improvements and inspire others to do the same
- Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills
- Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunities principles and best practice
- Budget management experience, and an understanding of cost versus benefit and return on investment
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative to solve problems

Salary: £36,024 - £44,263
Hours: 35 hours per week
