We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic, and hard-working Ward manager to lead and manage the multi-disciplinary team to promote a high standard of patient care on our 14 bedded National Deaf Adult inpatient ward: Bluebell ward. The team manager would liaise with referring teams nationally and ensure protection and promotion of the deaf culture within the deaf community, the organisation, and its allies.

He/she will be a highly skilled and well-motivated individual with considerable experience of working in a dynamic mental health service.

The post holder will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all policies and ensures that the ward functions in line with the Trust quality standard. The post holder will also ensure that supervision and appraisal systems are robustly implemented and that the care provided is of the highest possible standard in line with the service’s clinical governance framework. The Ward Manager is ultimately responsible for providing a safe environment within which all staff can deliver care and support to patients and their significant others. He/she must ensure effective deployment of resources within agreed budgets.

You will therefore be expected to engage in on-going professional development and appraisal and there will be opportunities for training for example, KUF (Personality Disorder training) and leadership courses.

Experienced in British sign language is desirable but not essential, but you must have experience of working in a health & social care environment.

Working closely with clinical and non-clinical leads, the post holder will manage and implementdepartmental space requests arising from commissioning or divisional service strategies.













The post holder will be responsible for managing all aspects of space utilisation and occupancy across the Trust including the maintenance of space utilisation and occupancy data, managing space requests from clinical and non-clinical services and delivering property and accommodation solutions to meet these requests.

The main duties and responsibilities of this post include:-

1. To oversee space utilisation across a large complex multi-site organisation.

2. To lead on the management and resolution of space requests from Trust Clinical and Corporate services and Divisions arising from consolidation and rationalisation of services or requests for additional space.

3. To keep and maintain a record and of space requests across the Trust’s portfolio together with management of the referral process to the Space Utilisation Group.

4. To be responsible for implementing new space proposals which may involve decommissioning space, re-configuration of space, move management, undertaking feasibility studies, design, programming, and the co-ordination of external consultants and contractors.

5. To advise and provide support to the Head of Property to determine scheme briefs, budgets, timescales, and logistics.

6. To attend project team meetings and support/compile with any presentations to key stakeholders.

7. To support the change management processes to deliver space utilisation improvements within the Trust – working closely with a wide range of non-property stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth transition.

8. To act as the first point of contact for all requests for space and follow established process to produce feasibility investigations and options appraisals to make proposals for space requirements ensuring adherence to principals and standards and alignment with established Estates Strategy.

9. To interpret and make decisions across a wide range of space project issues (including capital schemes) including the design options available for space layouts taking into account Health and Safety legislation.

10.To work with the Estates and Facilities team to ensure accurate space records, including audits of space use and functional suitability for estates management statistics and ERIC.

11.To undertake as required site visits across the estate to identify the scope, the varying physical levels and conditions of the estate to contribute to the development of the project brief.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated service manager to join our busy Surgery, Perioperative Medicine and Adult Critical Care team. You will support this award-winning team to effectively manage patient flow, admin and clerical teams, service improvement projects, and financial performance.

As part of Team Surgery, you will work closely as part of a triumvirate to deliver high quality, efficient and forward thinking services across The Royal London and Mile End Hospitals. Key to this role is establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all services that have elective care programmes withing their portfolios.

This role is critical to the success and safety of our healthcare services, directly supporting hospitals that deliver essential care to some of the most vulnerable populations. As the Senior HSEQ Manager, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the standards that ensure a safe, clean, and compliant environment for patients, healthcare workers, and visitors. We’re looking for a proactive leader who can hit the ground running, bringing extensive experience in health and safety within both soft and hard FM environments. What We’re Looking For:

- HSEQ Expertise: Extensive experience in HSEQ management, particularly within FM (Soft and Hard), healthcare or similar critical environments.
- Leadership & Influence: Strong interpersonal and coaching skills to inspire and align teams with HSEQ goals. Able to proactively influence a wide range of stakeholders to engage, gain commitment, own, and deliver best practices.
- Problem-Solving: Proven problem-solving skills with experience designing and implementing strategies, frameworks, and policies. Ability to address issues proactively, monitor KPIs, and work with stakeholders to drive improvements.
- Strategic Insight: Capable of balancing tactical execution with long-term strategy, driving continuous improvement.
- Level 6 Health & Safety Qualification: A relevant qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Level 6 or equivalent) with IOSH/IIRSM membership.
- Resilience & Drive: A proactive leader who adapts quickly to dynamic challenges in healthcare, bringing a solution-focused mindset.

• Incumbent is responsible to the Supervisor Laundry Operations Specialist for assuring that the work assignments of the other employees of the section are carried out.
