We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join our busy Payroll team at our offices in Newbridge, on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
This role is an ideal opportunity for those with payroll experience to further develop their skills in a fast-paced retail support environment.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
· Processing Weekly payroll in a busy payroll environment using Advanced Business Solution (Openpoeple) Software (c3600 employees).
· Processing 4 weekly Pension Payrolls.
· Running your own section of the payroll, ensuring all payments and deductions are implemented in accordance with statutory requirements.
· Dealing with a variety of different employee contracts and pay arrangements.
· Carrying out full start to finish Payroll including new starters, leavers, maternity, paternity, earnings arrestment’s, sick pay etc.
· Producing and compiling Management Reports.
· Dealing with Payroll related enquiries by phone and email.
· Working as part of a small team and providing cover for other members of the Payroll Team during holidays and absence periods.
· Assisting with implementing and testing of our new WFM system.
The ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate will have experience in processing large volume, multi-site payroll and computerised Payroll Accounting Methods. With strong IT skills, a good knowledge of Excel is important (data manipulation – pivot tables and v-lookups etc), as is a solid knowledge of HMRC legislation, pensions and tax.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is attention to detail and the ability to plan & organise the workload.
Knowledge of Workforce Management retail systems/Elementsuite would be an advantage, along with knowledge of pension schemes and processing pension payroll.
You will ideally have or be working towards a CIPP qualification or equivalent.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Daily working hours will generally be 8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, but some flexibility will be required from time to time to meet the needs and requirements of the role. This role is office based.
