Australasian Fresh is a well established food manufacturing business in Tottenham west of Melbourne. The business has been operating for 30 years and is continually growing producing food for high profile customers Australia wide. The business is seeking a motivated Food Technologist to ensure continuous growth into new avenues and continually improve our current premium offer.
Tasks & Responsibilities
• Conducting experiments on different product attributes including taste, colour, flavour, texture, nutritional content, storage, packaging
and shelf life.
• Perform research on products to improve existing products and innovate new products and processes.
• Plan and coordinate the product and process development trials.
• Undertaking research, carrying out experiments, analysing results and introduce applications to the products and processes based on
the findings.
• Providing advice on processing, food preservation, packaging, storage and distribution of food products while ensuring adherence to
quality assurance procedures and standards.
• Working collaboratively with sales, procurement, production and quality teams in problem solving and developing practical applications.
• Monitoring and reviewing the quality control procedures to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and standards.
• Compile, check and approve product specifications and labelling as per regulatory framework and relevant customer requirements.
• Documentation of standards and specifications where needed and compiling reports to communicate experimental outcomes.
• Conducting new ingredient research as well as packaging solutions.

• Intermediate computer skills

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher qualifications in Food Science and Technology
• HACCP training from a recognised RTO
• Minimum 3 years of onshore experience in the food manufacturing industry
• Currently live in Australia with full working rights.
Renumeration $75,000 to $80,000 P/A Plus Super
