Position Overview
You will join Enterprise Systems and Experience (ESE) which is part of Autodesk's 3500+ person Digital Platform & Experience division. ESE is the crew that helps Autodesk create business and customer success. We are all about improving the productivity of our people across the organization.
As the Collaboration Systems Migration Engineer, you will accelerate and manage the process of system and data migration maximizing the use of our tools, collaborate with across teams, consult on best practice, resolve migration issues, and manage escalations.
You will work with diverse personas across Autodesk including, senior leadership, partners, and technology staff. You will be successful in this role establishing working relationships with our users to ensure efficient, secure, and practical solution to meet system migration needs. You will report to the Collaboration Services Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
You will manage migrations/installations/connectivity/configurations. Initiate required programs and protocols ensuring seamless data and system migration & integration
Follow industry best practices, principles, quality assurance, and new ideas in implementation
Coordinate vendor software, technical services, and demonstrations
Ensure appropriate security controls are in place
Respond to reports of systems/storage failure or diminished performance according to Service Level Agreements. Troubleshoot systems and isolate the source of the failure
Diagnose issues and initiate appropriate actions for repair to return the infrastructure systems to full operational status if feasible; or if not feasible, initiate appropriate protocols to circumvent the failure or minimize impact. Promptly escalate issues to appropriate vendors or team members. Assume 24x7 on-call duty as assigned
Perform maintenance or upgrades after hours or on weekends, minimizing impact on businesses and users
Produce regular performance and capacity summaries and status reports for management
Create, publish, and update related IT (Information Technology) status communications
Maintain vendor relationships and oversight to ensure the success of outsourced services and implementations
Communicate corporate requirements and stay ahead of technology and product enhancements and between teams to resolve issues
Conduct analysis of functional, divisional, and company-wide systems for migrations.
Participate in the system/project design and engineering process. Support Project Managers, architects, or other partners during project planning providing subject matter expertise in a specialized area of system/data migration.
Document requirements and procedures aligned with corporate strategy, operational needs, and future initiatives, including expansions, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
Follow defined processes, ensure the solutions will support integrated enterprise applications, infrastructure technology, and data.
Provide timelines, benefit, and risk analysis to project partners for design solutions.
Decompose complex problems into manageable components, offering succinct solutions for each. Streamline implementation efforts for efficiency.
Engineer prototypes to validate performance capability and capacity projections.
Verify component/system performance through vendor demonstrations, best practice resources, or through onsite pilot configuration and testing.
Manage the implementation of solutions and manage vendors responsible for solution configuration.
Develop test plans and perform post-installation testing to verify performance. Identify, isolate, and rectify performance issues.
Document designs, requirements, dashboard metrics, configuration items and related dependencies for systems, networks, monitors, storage and their integration relationships with applications and infrastructure.
Develop appropriate technical diagramming and interconnectivity with interacting systems.
Record changes, configurations, incidents, problems, and processes.
Work with Product Owner and Product Manager/Team to understand and help refine functional requirements for new products or upgrades and have a clear understanding of what definition of "done" is.
Engage with Product Support and customers to gather usage insights, enhance comprehension of customer concerns, and contribute to future product design.
Identify and addresses issues before they escalate.
Minimum Qualifications
Experienced systems migration consultant 2yrs with both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace (GSuite) environments
2+ years of experience as a SharePoint administrator
Demonstrated experience with migration tools: ShareGate, BitTitan, Microsoft Migration Manager, and Exchange On-Premises remote Hybrid migration
Experience migrating email, meeting, file storage, and voice systems
Knowledge of Windows operating systems, SQL Server, Power BI, PowerShell, and bulk change scripting
Knowledge of SharePoint tools, including ULS Logs, workflows, and SharePoint forms
Foster a collaborative and constructive atmosphere, exhibiting optimism in challenging situations
Proficient in coordinating complex schedules and prioritizing tasks
Understand networking to install multiple pieces of software independently
Exchange/O365 migrations, mailbox creation/deletion, database migrations, general maintenance
Migrate from on-prem resources to cloud services, management of cloud resources in AWS, Azure, or other like technologies
Balances urgency with accuracy, ensuring efficient and accurate task completion
Familiarity with Identity and Access Management systems, such as Azure or Okta

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $97,600 and $168,300. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
