You will assist with the planning and programme leadership of the Animal Management (Zoo and Wildlife) degree programmes and will be responsible for a range of modules at Level 4 through to Level 6, including supervising Dissertation research. The post holder will undertake clinical sessions with duties within Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as Emergency/On-call in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. The Urogynaecologyunit at Royal Derby Hospital site comprises of 3 consultants and 2 specialist nurses, there is also a team at Queens Hospital Burton. Both the units are BSUG accredited and regularly submit their data to the BSUG database with excellent secretarial support.

RDH site provides a tertiary care Urogynaecology service, with referrals from neighbouring trusts and performing laparoscopic Urogynaecology procedures (about 25 cases of lap Colposuspension and 10 Sacro colpopexies per year), and Autologous Fascial Slings (10 per year). This unit performs a huge number of different reconstructive vaginal surgeries (around 300) for prolapse, including sacrospinous fixation; Injectables (BOTOX and urethral bulking agent) for DO and SUI, joint operative work with colorectal surgeons and urologists if required and agreed through MDT meetings. ICIQ validated questionnaires are always collected pre and post operatively and submitted to audit database.

The unit has got several projects ready to undertake once the successful candidate is in post.

Pay scale: Standard national scale in line with the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document plus the appropriate TLR2 payment

Main purpose of the job:

• Fulfill the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document

• Take specific responsibility and accountability for the day-to-day management and organisation of maths

• Have an impact on educational progress beyond your assigned pupils

Duties and responsibilities

In addition carrying out the duties of a class teacher as outlined in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document, the post holder receives a TLR2.1 for their nominated responsibility as maths subject lead.

Teaching

• Plan and teach well-structured lessons, following the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work
• Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
• Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils

Teaching and learning responsibility

• Use professional skills and judgements to provide strategic and practical leadership in maths
• Lead, manage and develop maths, and provide guidance for other teachers, including training, support and advice to improve school practices
• Improve standards within maths across the school, with demonstrable changes for pupils outside of their own classroom or group of pupils
• Provide strategic subject leadership, showing up-to date knowledge of sector trends and developments
• Review curriculum as required, highlighting areas where teaching can be broadened and attainment improved, providing data to the headteacher or others as required

• Have overall responsibility and accountability for your TLR area ensuring curriculum continuity, consistency, balance, match and progression
• Lead regular meetings relevant to your TLR area with appropriate colleagues
• Develop, demonstrate and promote teaching and learning activities appropriate to full age and ability range.
