Research Physiotherapist Under the direction of the orthopaedic research coordinator, to be responsible for the day-to-day running of specified clinical trials involving orthopaedic patients undergoing joint replacement surgery. This will include the recruitment, assessment and ongoing follow-up of patients for specific trials. Research Nurse To participate in the creation and maintenance of a high-quality clinical research environment. To initiate and manage nursing activities related to academic studies and clinical trials, from initiation to termination, according to ICH good clinical practice guidelines. Supervise junior members of the team. Clinical Trials Officer (CTO) The post holder will be a member of the research team and will be responsible for implementing and co-ordinating specific research programmes. The post holder will contribute to the implementation and dissemination of research findings into clinical practice and service development. The post holder will work collaboratively with the local clinical lead and across local primary and secondary care services. Supported by the Senior Research Team Lead, the post holder will be responsible for undertaking a broad range of research tasks associated with the programme grant. The post holder will assess, diagnose and treat their own caseload of patients and maintain associated records. The post holder will be responsible for implementing, assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in the clinical trials. This will involve the correct identification and recruitment of patients, education and monitoring of trial patients and the timely collection and documentation of accurate data. Liaison with local clinical trials units will be required. The post holder will have to travel between different locations including visiting patients/participants in their own homes.
